Mid-market companies are the critical backbone of our economy. They contribute £1.3trillion of turnover to the economy and account for a quarter of all employment. That’s despite representing just 0.5% of UK companies. These companies are the critical middle. Our new report highlights the growth opportunity for this critical middle. To address customers’ evolving needs, we brought together over 25 organisations at ‘Reimagining the future of cash’ – an event focused on innovating future payment methods. We spent the day at our London office collaborating in workshops, panel discussions, and activities all aimed at developing solutions that support both cash and digital payments for customers. With Black Friday and Christmas just around the corner, our latest research shows that 41% of UK adults receive more scam approaches during November and December. This year, across NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland and Ulster Bank, we’re launching the Scamvent calendar to raise awareness of scams and fraud over the festive season.
