Today, as the year slowly ends, we are delighted to reveal a powerful number. Our Computing Ambassadors in 2024 have volunteered over 13,000 hours! 🏆 They are part of the wider STEM Ambassadors scheme, where those who work in computing fields give back their time to the next generation. They work with teachers to support lessons with real-life examples. New research from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT has revealed an 8% year-on-year increase in the number of women studying for computer science degrees in the UK—we need you now more than ever! We enjoyed #OutdoorClassroomDay recently - who ever said computing couldn't be enjoyed in nature? 😉 Children are spending less time outdoors than ever before and this is affecting their health, wellbeing and development. How often do your young people get to go outside for their education? 🌲 #Community ActionFunder Learning through Landscapes

In October, we partnered with the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) to deliver several impactful sessions aimed at increasing girls' engagement in computing education and careers. 🌟 Here's a quick look at what we achieved together: 🔹We hosted a session with Computing Ambassadors, sharing top tips and practical takeaways on how to encourage more girls to get involved in computing through their outreach efforts. 🔹We delivered a training workshop with NCCE Computing Hubs across England, showing them how to integrate My Skills My Life into their outreach to inspire and engage more girls in computing. 🔹As part of a wider computing outreach day at the National STEM Learning Centre in York, we ran a My Skills My Life session to empower girls by helping them explore their future in STEM. It’s been a fantastic opportunity to work with the NCCE and Computing Hubs, and we're excited about the positive impact these sessions will have on the next generation of young women in computing! #WISECampaign #NCCE
