☎️ 01524 571032 Prior to this budget, many business and agricultural assets, along with investments in the Alternative Investments Market (AIM), were given relief from Inheritance. In the budget, the Chancellor announced that these reliefs were going to be reduced, effective April 2026. Business and Agricultural assets relief will now only apply to the first £1m of each type of asset. And IHT will then be charged at 20% on anything over that. All AIM investments will also now attract IHT at 20%. These reliefs are on top of your normal personal IHT allowances. So, careful additional planning may be required for those who hold these types of assets.
