Mayor's Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC)
Government Administration
Working to make London a safe city for all.
About us
The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 established a Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for each police force area across England and Wales. In London, the elected Mayor – Sadiq Khan - is the occupant of the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC). The Mayor in his MOPAC role has appointed a Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime (DMPC) - Kaya Comer-Schwartz - to whom he has delegated all functions that are not reserved to him - to issue a Police and Crime Plan, and functions in relation to the appointment and removal of senior MPS officers. To support the Mayor and DMPC to fulfil their responsibilities, MOPAC has a dedicated team including specialists in commissioning, finance, oversight, policy, professional standards, research and analysis, community engagement and auditing. Together, we work to deliver the Mayor’s Police and Crime Plan and make London a safe city for all.

The new Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, Kaya Comer Schwartz, visited Lambeth’s Integrated Offender Management Service (IOM) today alongside Cllr Dr Hashi, Cllr Manley-Browne, the BCU Commander and Director for Community Safety and Resilience. We introduced Lambeth’s excellent partnership offer to manage prolific offenders across the borough. We also heard from the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), Probation, and the IOM Police team. The Deputy Mayor then visited the IOM Service-User Community Hub, where she met with co-commissioned and locally commissioned services and IOM service-users. This is an excellent example of how excellent partnerships can lead to amazing results 🤝

It's been great to celebrate our work and unwavering commitment to tackling violence against women & girls during this year's #16DaysofActivism. For us, Kaya Comer Schwartz & the MayorofLondon, ending VAWG, protecting women & ensuring their voices are heard is a priority all year round.

Fantastic for Kaya Comer Schwartz and members of MOPAC’s Senior Leadership Team to visit YOUNG LADIES CLUB at Leyton Orient Football Club. They learnt about the important work they're doing to support victims of domestic abuse across London, through mentoring, training and outreach thanks to our funding.

🧡Fathers play a crucial role in children's lives. 🫶We're working to break cycles of crime, trauma, and family breakdown in order to strengthen families. 🤝With support from Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, we've invested in grassroots organisations to provide targeted support for fathers. Studies show that fathers play a critical role in supporting children’s development and their academic success, helping with problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity. Following work the VRU has done over the last four years through its Parent Carer Champion Network, we identified gaps in support and provision for fathers, as well as a lack of engagement with support services. The VRU has now invested in two consortiums to deliver targeted therapeutic support and assistance in supporting fathers to gain access to their children.
