Members of #TeamMilestones at Stepping Forward threw an #ABBA themed party recently. With attendees asking when the next party would be, we’re sure it won’t be too long before the team decide to say “here we go again”!

Milestones Trust supports adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs in the south west of England.
About us
Milestones Trust supports adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs to live their best lives. Established in 1986, we support more than 500 people across Bath, Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. Our approach is based around the fact that you can't build a support service around a complex condition. You can build it around a person, if you understand their particular care needs, wants and ambitions. And while that is our starting point, everyone changes. So we change with them. The care we provide is straightforward, practical and above all, tailored to people's individual needs. We take the time to get to know the people we support, helping them keep their connections to their own lives, their family, friends and community. We support people to live with more choice and more independence. We exist to make sure they have every opportunity to live happy and fulfilled lives.

#TeamMilestones Staff and volunteers from Neighbourly recently put in hard work refurbishing Mulberry House. They re-painted, re-finished and repaired the existing walls and furniture, before decorating with some new items. The team are already looking to the future and planning a new phase of the project: improving the garden!

The government's Autumn Statement is already having a major impact on charities operating in the social care sector, which have just a few short months before key announcements come into effect in 2025. https://loom.ly/viUA1y8 #ProvidersUnite

Milestones' Director of Business Development, Will Oborne shares his thoughts on the implications of the Chancellor's Autumn Budget for the adult social care sector:
The unique funding dynamics of the specialist care market make it challenging to cover the costs that will come about from Rt Hon Rachel Reeves' Budget. The sector is running out of places to look to find savings. My thoughts on what is required 👇
Where should adult specialist care turn to avoid collapse?

Huge thanks to Carers Support Centre (Bristol and South Gloucestershire) for today's #CarersRightsDay event in Bristol. It was lovely to talk with carers and share information on Warmley Wheelers and the Music Train, as well as other Milestones services such our respite care/short breaks service, Fairburn. Please do contact us if you're a carer looking for further information on any of our services 👇 www.milestonestrust.org.uk

Last night saw the #GBCareAwards ceremony celebrating "the BEST of the BEST in #SocialCare in the south west" and we're proud to announce that two members of #TeamMilestones were among the finalists! Alan Nuttall and Liz Gray were both shortlisted for the Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award, which is presented to individuals that the judges feel have made significant long-term contributions to the social care sector. Alan is the Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) Manager at Milestones Trust. He’s worked in health and social care for * 50 years * and became a Registered Nurse 45 years ago. He was nominated for his phenomenal work embedding PBS approaches across Milestones and for supporting the next generation of nurses and social care workers as a lecturer and mentor at the University of the West of England. Liz was nominated for her incredible work with Warmley Wheelers and the Music Train. Liz Launched both projects over a decade ago. They are still going strong and Liz still coordinates the Music Train, dedicating hours of her free time each week to ensure every event goes perfectly. Of course, there could only be one winner on the night, and we're thrilled to confirm that Alan was selected by the judges! Lovely to see Alan's career recognised in such a way - we think he's a very worthy winner!
