Alongside Buzzacott and EOS Worldwide we recently hosted a breakfast panel discussion on ‘Navigating Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition’. Our #M&A partner David Baverstock was joined by George Thresh from Buzzacott and EOS Worldwide’s Shane Bohbrink to lead a discussion with Steve Lawrence of the Uncomplicated Group and Paul Quirk from Citium Capital, both former and current searchers, to discuss practical issues of #ETA and the pitfalls and lessons learnt along the way. As a relatively new #M&A trend the journey is often clouded with confusion, both pre- and post-transaction – click here; https://shorturl.at/QkJNS to learn more about what our panel had to say. #ETA #M&A #searchers

Partner David Baverstock has advised Astra Holding Group on its first funding round and subsequent acquisition of specialist industrial door firm Interdoor UK. Astra Holdings is a great example of the new wave of Enterprise Through Acquisition (ETA) firms. As Astra has identified, ETA brings many benefits to potential business owners, not least of all by offering an answer to succession issues which many smaller businesses face. David Baverstock was supported by senior associate, Joshua Hartle, and associates Ciara Duggan and James Stocker. Amit Rai and Sergey Sushentsev, co-founders of Astra, added, “The support from David Baverstock and the team has been superb. It has been a pleasure to work with them and we look forward to working with Marriott Harrison again in the future.” #funding #M&A #SME #growth

Marriott Harrison was delighted to advise #AI architecture and design firm Gendo on its seed round funding, raising £4.3million from investors including PT1, LEA Partners, Koro Capital and Concept Ventures. Gendo, which launched in 2023, uses machine learning and AI tools to help designers and architects generate imagery, saving them time and helping speed up project development and delivery. The funds will help Gendo investigate new, novel AI models and architecture workflows to help the firm in its aim to be a ‘truly next generation platform’ for designers. The Marriott Harrison team was led by partner Fran Spooner working alongside senior associate Bradley Heath and associate Zoha K. Khalaj-Mehri. Commenting on the fundraising, Fran said, “Many congratulations to Gendo on their successful funding round. After having advised the Gendo team on its pre-seed funding round, it was a pleasure to work with them again and to help them secure the funds that will see the firm move onto the next stage of its development. "All of us at Marriott Harrison wish the team well as Gendo continues to grow and prosper.” #fundraising #AI #nextgen
