Last week, our UK Managing Director, Corinne Facey, joined Polish City Club 20th Anniversary panel, "CEE Growth Success Stories – International Expansion Designed in Poland." Corinne shared insights on the highs and lows of bringing LPP’s RESERVED brand to one of the world’s most competitive markets. The 20th Anniversary of the Polish City Club truly delivered! The formal Gala Reception last Thursday left me with so many emotions: ❇ Inspired by John Studzinski address on how the Pope John Paul II teachings and character influenced his approach to life, business, and philanthropy. ❇ Grateful for the Ambassador's, Mr Piotr Wilczek keynote remarks on how the PCC showcased the very best of the Polish professional community in the UK. ❇ Hopeful by the keynotes by the former Polish Prime Minister Jan Krzysztof Bielecki with remarks about the golden age of Poland over last 30 years and how we can sustain it through technology and innovation. ❇ Uplifted by the speech by Rafal Libera, the PCC president, who reminded us about the 20 years of PCC legacy and the great foundations for the future. My key takeaways from the panels during the conference on Friday: ✅ Polish brands making huge impact internationally and this trend will continue as showcased by Corinne Facey from LPP RESERVED UK LIMITED, Khaled Elleboudy from PRESS GLASS UK ✅ Polish companies will continue to strategically position in the UK market/globally as illustrated by recent acquisitions of Thomas Cook Group plc and Menzies Distribution by eSky Group and InPost respectively - discussed by Tomasz Czechowicz from MCI Capital and Sandra Piotrowska from British Embassy Warsaw ✅ Poland has already home-grown fintech champions like BLIK ready for the global expansion whilst others like Żabka Polska and Allegro can remain a regional dominating players as discussed by Dorota (Dori) Zimnoch, PhD, Zbigniew Jagiello, Adam Marciniak and Andrzej Przewiezlikowski ✅ The combination of startup-style innovation, agile product and major bank backing (trust) has allowed Chase UK to be recently awarded "The Best British Bank" in just few years as discussed by Kuba Fast, the CEO Chase UK & CEO JPMorgan Europe Limited. ✅ Energy transition is a pivotal consideration not just for climate change but also prosperity as discussed by Roksana Ciurysek-Gedir, CFA, Rafal Libera, Grzegorz Gorski, Staffan Qvist, Matthew Honeyben, and Monika Morawiecka On a personal level, I reconnected with many friends, mentors, advisors and incredible leaders. Yesterday we proudly launched the MMC x Reserved collection, a collaboration with renowned Polish designers Ilona Majer and Rafał Michalak. This special collection celebrates diversity in fashion, blending the unique styles of both brands. "Together with MMC, we have created something completely unique.
