It’s clear that planning in London isn’t yet getting the balance of ‘good’ and ‘growth’ right for many of our communities. It was great to launch this report this morning, and with such an engaged and passionate audience. I hope the report and its recommendations can help to redress the balance ⚖️ #LSDCSocialValue London Sustainable Development Commission
In a rapidly changing city like London, it’s crucial that our planning policies reflect the diverse needs of all Londoners. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch event for our latest report, Embedding Social Value into the London Plan, co-authored by We Made That and Graham Harrington, and commissioned by the London Sustainable Development Commission (LSDC). This report offers a clear roadmap for integrating social value into urban planning and development, featuring six key recommendations and 21 actionable steps. At the launch event today, Holly Lewis represents We Made That, where she explores the report’s findings and discusses how planning policy can better support local development. This is a great chance to hear from those already delivering social value and engage in panel discussions with experts like Maria Adebowale-Schwarte, LSDC Commissioner and Social Value sub-group Co-Chair, David Elliott, LSDC Commissioner and Social Value sub-group Co-Chair among many others advocating for change.
