November sets record ahead of Christmas getaway! ✈️ 📈 London Stansted’s strong passenger performance continued as the airport recorded its busiest ever November, welcoming 2.14 million passengers during the month. ⏱️ Operational performance during the month remained strong, with 99% of passengers passing safely through security in 15 minutes or less. 🌍 Dublin, Istanbul, and Edinburgh were the most popular routes last month, while Spain, Italy, and Germany ranked as the top destination countries. November sets record ahead of Christmas getaway from London Stansted Airport! ✈️ 🌍 London Stansted’s strong passenger performance continued as the airport recorded its busiest ever November, welcoming 2.14 million passengers during the month. 📈 The total was an 8.3% increase compared to the same month in 2023 and surpassed the previous November record set in 2018 by more than 152,000. 🎄 Looking ahead, the airport is preparing for a very busy Christmas period, with more than 1.3 million passengers expected to travel between December 20th and January 5th. London Stansted Airport outlines its future vision and plans to unlock potential of existing single runway! ✈️ London Stansted today published its long-term plan for sustainable growth over the next 20 years. The draft Sustainable Development Plan (SDP) outlines how the airport intends to make best use of its existing single runway and what it will do to continue maximising the benefits and managing the impact of the airport’s operation for local communities. As part of this updated plan, London Stansted’s latest forecasts are that the airport could handle between 48-51 million passengers a year in the 2040s. Gareth Powell, London Stansted’s Managing Director, said: “London Stansted has connected our area with the world, establishing the airport as a driver of economic growth and source of thousands of high-quality jobs and training opportunities while doing so." Yesterday, we celebrated International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Alongside this, we're also pleased to announce that London Stansted Airport has been recognised as an Inclusive Dementia Community by Alzheimer's Society ️💙 As part of this accreditation, we have worked with internal MAG (Airports Group) departments, the Stansted Access For Everyone Forum (SAFE), our airline and ground handling partners, and our service provider ABM UK, implementing various initiatives and improvements to enhance the accessibility and experience for those living with dementia. London Stansted’s Stephanie Accessibility Manager, said: “We know that travelling can be a stressful experience for anyone, but for people living with dementia, it can be even more challenging. Last week nearly 300 local businesses gathered at London Stansted Airport’s latest Meet the Buyers event! 🤝 Now in its 23rd year, the event brought together businesses from across the region, all ready to pitch their products and services to 30 major buyers including Fado, Galliford Try, Kier Group, Mace, LPL Construction and London Stansted. SKIES THE LIMIT!✈️ Last week, London Stansted Airport's education centre, #Aerozone, welcomed its 25,000th visitor. To mark the occasion, a special aviation-themed event was held for 30 pupils from local school, Forest Hall School. The event included talks from a number of guest speakers who hold diverse roles across our airport. Local good causes get a helping hand from the London Stansted Airport Community Fund ✈️ 💙 The fund has just awarded nearly £30,000 to 13 projects across Essex and Hertfordshire that are making a real difference in the local community. 💰 So far this year the fund has donated more than £182,000 to charities and community groups in the surrounding area.
