This fresh, flavor-forward new design from Smirnoff ICE redesign may well have sent a chill down the spine of the competition… and it definitely earned a 2024 Designalytics Effectiveness Award! 🏆 Among other things, this new look design from the “OG” of flavored malt beverages dramatically boosted flavor imagery, better communicated “refreshment,” and brightened things up with a light-blue background. Consumers seem thirsty for the updated packaging. During the 26 weeks following the new design's launch, sales increased by 3.5% compared to the same period during the prior year—a massive achievement, considering the size of the brand. This aligns with Designalytics’ analysis of the new and old designs: A whopping 87% (!) of category buyers preferred to purchase the new design over the previous version. “This redesign has shown that design can truly be a growth driver and accelerant,” said Lisa Lee, brand director for Smirnoff ICE. “Of course, you have to compliment it with the right marketing tools, but design can be very effective in helping move the needle.” Learn how the teams at Smirnoff ICE and Design Bridge and Partners pulled off this impressive feat of design-driven brand growth: loom.ly/HkTWRuA #designmeetdata #awards #brands #branding #cpg #data #designs #marketingstrategy #redesign #packagedesign #dielineawards Diageo Dieline Hania Midura Katie Hughes Shang Wu

  • We've been gathering views on how people feel when they've experienced a pest invasion...and it's far from as pretty as this picture. But this post isn't about vermin, it's about feelings like shame...and how important it is to work with brilliant moderators who are skilled in creating spaces where people feel safe enough to express what's going on deep down. The opportunity to share our innermost senses can also be the first step towards restoring control and solution. • Two of the Link team, Gary Wickens and Rachel Turner, had an interesting and memorable day at the Trade Drinks Expo yesterday. The most memorable part of the day were the people they met, each with a palpable passion for their brand and product. All motivated to put something deeply personal to them out into the world of drinks and many of the brands were established by family or friendship connections. Below is a round-up of some of the most innovative and memorable brands Gary and Rachel came across… 1.     Ginagain – A craft gin with carefully selected quality ingredients, so layered and multi-dimensional, they were able to sip and savour it without any mixers. 2.     Sagrado – An exciting innovation of agave-based cider, a very different take on the booming tequila trend. 3.     Moonshine Mayhem from Angus Alchemy – Very unusual but totally tasty creations, all inspired by Scottish sweet puddings. 4.     Drinksmyths Cocktails – Redefining the cocktail experience, with a vision to make alcohol-free cocktails so much more than just another ‘soft-drink’.   5.     Wildoats – Made with British oats and family owned, working in collaboration with Baristas and leading Roasters to deliver an oat milk that really performs in hot drinks. 6.     Cupffee – Driven by a motivation to care for the planet, without making sustainability sound too serious, through their fun edible cups! Which of these stories intrigue or inspire you the most?

  • There is a lot of excitement about the benefits of AI for research and rightly so. However, we at Link can’t help but think how Grace Hopper’s words are as relevant today as they have ever been – especially in the AI world of today. If you don’t know Grace Hopper, we would strongly recommend you look her up! She recognised the benefits of change, of looking to the future “Humans are allergic to change. They love to say, 'We've always done it this way.' I try to fight that. That's why I have a clock on my wall that runs counter-clockwise.” BUT, she also recognised that… “No computer is ever going to ask a new, reasonable question. It takes trained people to do that.”  “We’re flooding people with information. We need to feed it through a processor. A human must turn information into intelligence or knowledge.”  We could not agree more! #gracehopper #AI #marketresearch #insight
