THE MORE HUMAN WAY TO TREAT CANCER
About us
LEO CANCER CARE WAS FOUNDED WITH TWO POWERFUL GOALS 1. Improve the quality of Radiation Therapy delivery through upright positioning 2. Improve access to Radiation Therapy through the removal of gantries Leo Cancer Care was founded with more than 100 years of Radiation Therapy experience by a team dedicated to challenging the norms in everything we do. Patient’s lives influence us to find a better way, a better way to improve patient care and how a patient experiences it. A better way to increase the accessibility of cancer treatments for more patients in more places. We believe our technology is that better way. Our family of world class products can provide a streamlined and efficient treatment while making the patient feel in control and hopeful. Originally founded in Australia, Leo Cancer Care has been built on research from across the globe showing the clinical benefits of upright patient positioning. Combining this with a shift from machine rotation to patient rotation, Leo Cancer Care is set to change the face of Radiation Therapy for good. *Please note that Leo Cancer Care products are not yet commercially available as we work towards FDA approval and CE mark.

At #ASTRO2024, Thomas (Rock) Mackie sat with Dr. Zachary Morris, the newly appointed Chair of Human Oncology at UW Health, to discuss why he’s excited about upright proton therapy. Dr. Morris also shares an exciting update on an upcoming clinical trial using our CT scanner to explore the anatomical differences between lying down and staying seated for treatment. This research is set to provide valuable insights, and the next few years at UW Health are shaping up to be pivotal for advancing upright radiotherapy. Thank you Macmillan Cancer Support, Her Breast Friends and the VIP ladies who volunteered their time to help us test our new arm support design. #partnership #feedback #research
Yesterday, alongside Macmillan Cancer Support’s Innovation Impact Investment Portfolio company Leo Cancer Care we hosted an engagement day with a breast cancer charity based in Hull, Her Breast Friends. Leo Cancer Care are dedicated to transforming cancer treatment through their pioneering upright radiotherapy treatment. It is imperative that people with lived experience of radiotherapy treatment are involved in the development of Leo’s products and we’ve been delighted to be able to collaborate on this project with Leo Cancer Care and HER Breast Friends, to inform Leo’s design of their arm supports to make radiotherapy treatment for breast cancer more comfortable for people living with cancer. It was a wonderful day and we are very grateful for everyone who took part in the opportunity.
