“Being able to return to my old primary school to teach children about financial education has been an incredibly rewarding experience. As I walked through the familiar halls and classrooms, memories of my own time as a student flooded back, but this time I was on the other side of the desk, ready to impart knowledge and share my own experiences with the next generation. This volunteering experience has been possible thanks to Legal & General’s partnership with RedSTART Educate, a charity focused on teaching children about financial education, which is critical in today's world.   Many young people finish school without a basic understanding of how to manage money, budget effectively, or save for the future. By introducing these concepts at a young age, we can help set them up for financial success later in life. The students were eager to learn and ask questions, showing a genuine interest in the topic. We discussed the importance of saving money, making smart spending decisions, and the power of compound interest. It was heart-warming to see their eyes light up as they grasped these concepts and began to think about how they could apply them to their own lives.   This volunteering experience was also a way to give back to the community that had shaped me as a child. By returning to my old school and sharing my time and knowledge with the students, I was able to show my gratitude for the opportunities and education I had received there. It felt like a full-circle moment. As I left the school that day, I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. I had shared my knowledge, connected with the students, and hopefully planted seeds of financial literacy that will continue to grow and flourish in the years to come.
