  • Imagine nearly 200 faces smiling back at you. Now we say nearly 200 because as our Christmas campaign continues, the figures are still rolling through - a wonderful thing. We know it's close to 200; we know that one of our partners on the ground was able to extend a Christmas party invitation to even more children because they're awesome. For so many of us, heading to a Christmas party of some kind, catching up with friends, exchanging gifts and indulging in festive shenanigans and Yuletide fun is a given. For the children and young people we support and the people who take care of them, it's just not. Just imagine the absolute JOY of being able to get this over the line with support from our INCREDIBLE donors. Christmas meals. Christmas presents. Christmas fun. Christmas parties. Big Love and Smiles to everyone who has supported our 2024 Christmas campaign so far. We appreciate you! • That’s 1 in 4, and that’s pretty wild, right? As 2024 draws to a close, yes, there are a few weeks left, but we trust they will fly by as the festivities come thick and fast. As we reach year-end, we’re still thinking about this; we always think about this and how unjust these statistics are. A moment for the supporters that have stepped us this year to change lives and save lives. A moment for friends like Rhodes Music Group Ltd, Andy Ward and sweet frequencies and more. A moment for Fatboy Slim for kindly supporting our 2024 World Water Day Have a Drink On Us campaign. We appreciate you all! The cost of a freshwater well starts at £2,880. And yes, this side of Christmas, and as many of us face a very real and harsh cost of living crisis, that amount of money seems as wild as the number of people living without clean water. But it’s not a mission someone has to take on alone. Have a Drink on Us hero @andyward_inspired raised funds for his upcoming well with an entire community of supporters donating monthly for 12 months - a genius plan we’ll see coming together very soon. Now that’s inspired. Their well will create clean, safe water for a whole community for 10 years - now that’s wild. Be inspired. Learn more about Have a Drink on Us and the #watercrisis at the comments below. • “Music is a magical vehicle to help develop so many other transferable life skills, which can be fundamental in changing young people’s lives for a lifetime." - Jono Heale We are very excited to welcome Jono Heale, long-time supporter and good friend of the charity, to Team LNADJ and our upcoming January trip to Tanzania! With Jono at the forefront of building hope through music, he and ACS Custom (Advanced Communication Solutions Ltd) invited us to join an evergreen collaboration that changes lives whenever someone purchases a pair of ACS Custom festival-ready earplugs. An incredible 16% of each sale supports our work! Jono has impressed us so much with his commitment to LNADJ via ACS Custom that we have invited him to become a trustee of the charity this year. We can’t wait to see him bring 35 years of well-rounded music industry experience and a notable passion for instrumentalism to the young people at Angels Gate Centre for Boys. Jono will work with Darren Jay, Trevor Fung, and LNADJ team members Ellie and Jonny to represent our Get Equipped initiative. This initiative aims to help build confidence, elevate the positive profile of street youth, and provide a safe space to learn while encouraging self-discovery, stress relief, and emotional release through the power of music and art. Ahead of the trip, we connected to learn more about his commitment to the cause and what he hopes to bring to this experience. From all of us at LNADJ, Big, Big Love to Jono for stepping up to join us on our mission to build hope through music. We are excited for you to see the work you have been so kindly supporting live and direct, AND we cannot wait to see 'band' Jono in action! If you’d like to learn more about Get Equipped, support Jono’s fundraising efforts OR protect your ears please head to the links in the comments below. • BIG NEWS!! 🚨🚨🚨Introducing Darren Jay to the LNADJ family! "Before my DJing career took off, I worked in social care in Greenwich, London, supporting vulnerable young people aged five to eighteen. Being involved with children again and helping them through the power of music feels like a natural fit for me. I'm incredibly excited to meet the team and pupils and continue the fantastic work that LNADJ and its previous trips have achieved at Angels Gate." We are thrilled to welcome Darren to Team LNADJ and our upcoming January trip to Tanzania! With his previous experience in voluntary roles supporting young people in London and Africa, Darren is well-prepared to deliver the Get Equipped programme with both ease and passion. We can't wait to see him share all the energy of Jungle and liquid (and soulful) Drum & Bass with the young people at Angels Gate Centre for Boys. Darren will work with Jono Heale, Trevor Fung and LNADJ team members Ellie and Jonny to represent our Get Equipped initiative to help build confidence, elevate the positive profile of street youth, and provide a safe space to learn whilst encouraging self-discovery, stress relief and emotional release through the power of music and art. Darren Jay began his DJ career in 1989 with a residency at Asylum in Woolwich Polytechnic, later becoming a fixture in London's vibrant party scene. 1991 he moved to Tenerife, collaborating with legends such as Mr. C, C.J. Mackintosh, and Ricardo Da Force (KLF). Upon returning to London, he played for Fabio & Grooverider's Rage at Heaven and became a resident at the iconic AWOL in 1992, performing alongside Randall, Micky Finn, Kenny Ken, Dr. S Gachet, MC GQ, and Fearless, helping to spearhead the Jungle explosion. Since 1991, he's been busy becoming a seasoned music industry figure with an impressive legacy that continues to inspire with his enduring passion for music. We caught up with Darren ahead of the trip, please read his full and inspiring interview in the comments below! ❤️ From all of us at LNADJ, Big, Big Love to Darren for stepping up to join us on our mission to build hope through music. We are really excited to see how Jungle & Drum and Bass land with the young people and can’t wait to follow your journey and learn about the impact you have. • We are knee-deep in December with so much more to announce before we bounce for the festivities. Like many businesses, organisations and charities, we don’t really ‘shut down’. We can’t because beneficiaries have needs, our trusted partners on the ground have needs, and our Christmas campaign annually represents a real period of impact for us - it doesn’t stop, it can’t stop, we won’t stop. Our Christmas campaign is live, and the team is busy contacting our supporters directly to see if they can help make a lifelong difference this December. To learn more, please visit the link in our comments or bio or drop us a DM, and we will fill you in on how you can create meaningful change this Christmas. Big ups and big love to this wonderful team doing the do this December. Wonder Woman Andrea is not included, but on one fine day, there will be a photo of ALL of us together. Throwback to BMC, where our friends sweet frequencies radio stepped up to make a difference and build hope through music and build a fresh water well - we appreciate you! Always love, Team LNADJ x James Holdsworth, ANDREA ADAM, Jonny Lee, Vijay Kumar Anand, Neil Kemp, Ellie Talebian #Christmas #Team #Charity #MusicEducation #SocialChange

  • At LNADJ, we’re thrilled in our UK Get Equipped expansion. With support from The Beatport Group’s Diversity + Parity Fund ($15,000), we’ve collaborated with Getaway Girls in Leeds to deliver a transformative programme for young women dedicated to building hope through music. Here’s what we’ve accomplished together so far: 👩🎤 Who We Reached on our DJ Course: 17 young women aged 12-17 from diverse cultural backgrounds participated in our DJ training programme. Three groups were led by Amber D, with support from Sharan—a former Getaway Girls participant who is now a DJ and mentor at just 25. 🎛 What We Delivered: DJ training on Technics 1210 turntables and Pioneer XDJ-XZ controllers (thanks to Technics for their generous equipment donation facilitated by Vijay Kumar Anand) Dance music production training using Ableton (with software and training staff provided by Ableton - more to come on that!!). 📈 How We Measured Success: Participants completed baseline assessments using a Youth Work Tool, enabling us to track their skill development and personal growth on our DJ course. Over 12 weeks, they gained hands-on experience and confidence, culminating in an International Women’s Day showcase event featuring: 🎧 One-hour DJ sets from participants. 🎶 Original tracks produced by the music production trainees. This initiative highlights the power of collaboration in fostering diversity and gender parity in the music industry. It’s been an incredible journey watching these young women grow into confident, skilled DJs. We’re excited to continue building on this success in 2025 and beyond! A heartfelt thank you to our partners Beatport, Ableton, Grace P. teachers Pops Roberts, Amber D, and supporters for making this possible. We can’t wait to share more with you!
