Sprinkle of Kindness: How Emma Made the Weekend Special 🍰 💗 Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference! One of our wonderful clients at L A Care, who loves nothing more than a refreshing village stroll, found herself feeling a bit down this past weekend. Storm Bert had other plans, keeping her indoors and away from her favorite activity. ⛈️☔️😢 But Emma, one of our incredible Care Practitioners, saw an opportunity to turn the weekend around. On Sunday, she took it upon herself to head to the local shop, picking up all the ingredients needed to bake rock cakes—a delightful surprise that completely transformed the day! 🥰 What happened next was pure magic. With no weighing scale on hand, Emma read the recipe in ounces, and our client—drawing on years of baking experience in her cottage—simply *knew* the right amounts. It was a beautiful moment of skill, intuition, and teamwork. And as you can see from these pictures, the joy of baking together brought smiles that lasted long after the cakes came out of the oven. This is what L A Care is all about: finding creative, thoughtful ways to uplift and bring happiness to the people we support. We’re so proud of Emma for going above and beyond to make this day special, and so grateful for a team that lives and breathes kindness. Hot off the press!! Here I am, sat this morning checking my emails early doors with a coffee and the first email I open is this, addressed to Bev (who is the most incredible, loyal, highly adept Care Coordinator AKA my right arm FYI) completely out of the blue—and it has truly put a huge smile on my face. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do. We care deeply about every one of our clients, and it’s our mission to ensure they receive outstanding care with every visit. Equally, we are committed to creating a supportive and outstanding work environment for our incredible team. This week has been particularly challenging with a few team members off sick and others on annual leave, but we all rallied together, adjusting our schedules and prioritising the care of our clients. It’s tough at times, but receiving such kind testimonials is the pick-me-up we didn’t know we needed. It reminds us that our hard work makes a difference, and for that, we are incredibly grateful. Thank you to everyone who continues to trust us with their care, and thank you to our amazing team for all that they do. L A Care have been so adaptable to allow me to go back to work after my third baby and for it to be the right balance around family life which is so important to me! I never knew how much I would love being a Care Practitioner after only ever working with children. It’s such a rewarding job and I can’t believe I’ve not done it sooner!
