📣 Exciting news in mental health innovation! 📣 We’re thrilled to announce that KHP Ventures has launched Europe's first NHS-partnered fund dedicated to scaling innovative mental health startups. The Innovations in Mental Health Fund, in partnership with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, will accelerate the development of digital mental health technologies. In the UK, over 3m people - 6% of the population - were in contact with mental health services during 2021/22. Despite an abundance of wellbeing and consumer solutions, there is little evidence that these help individuals with clinically diagnosed mental health disorders. What you need to know: 🌐 Applications are open today for early-stage digital technologies that address depression, anxiety and psychosis-related disorders. 📈 Successful applicants will join our 12-week Immersion Programme, which will provide unparalleled hands-on support and access to deep clinical and entrepreneurial expertise 🚀 Participants will be considered for investment of up to £1m per company 💰 Wellcome Trust is the anchor investor in the Fund, which will close in 2025 with a total target raise of £20m. ➡️ Apply here: https://lnkd.in/dMEMx6PK ➡️ To find out more, Founders can join a webinar on 17 December (at 12pm and 4:30pm GMT) or take a look at our FAQs on the site. A big thank you to our partners at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and a big thank you to Mike Butcher ✍️ at TechCrunch for the write up! ➡️ Link to the piece: https://lnkd.in/dbvbRxtE Pooja Sikka Daniel Dickens Dr. Nadine Hachach-Haram FRCS (Plast), BEM Tim Irish Candice Hampson Jing Wei Luo (羅敬為) Madhav Mahendra Dr Patrik Bächtiger Lynsey Bilsland Elena Netsi Professor Miranda Wolpert Sean Cross David Bradley Danny Bosch, PhD FRSA Jennifer Owen Aahuti Rai #MentalHealthInnovation #HealthTech #MedTech #MedTechInnovation #funding #MedicalDevice #FundingNews #venture#investments#TechNews #Innovation

And now for a physical launch...congratulations to our portfolio company Apian and partners at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust on this historic moment.
Fantastic to be featured on the BBC and The Times today highlighting how automated, on-demand delivery drones are now transporting urgent blood samples for Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, using drones for good to improve staff productivity and patient experience. As the BBC said, "Drones certainly won't solve all the problems in the NHS but it could help create a higher level of performance”, and we’re so excited to be making this a reality. This partnership is the hard work, commitment and perseverance of partners at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, Wing, the Civil Aviation Authority, NATS and many more for making this a reality. https://lnkd.in/evwSZbf8

Congratulations to Doccla on a successful Series B fundraise - see the news below! It has been a pleasure to work with Dag, Martin and the entire team, alongside Chris Bischoff Alexandre Momeni Andrea Zitna Cameron McLain Tim Schneider and many colleagues across our NHS partners. We look forward to continuing to support this next stage of growth and impact for patients, families and the healthcare workforce!
Today we announced a company milestone - our Series B fundraise! We welcome our new investors Lakestar, Optum Ventures, and Elaia and thank existing investors who participated in the round, General Catalyst, Bertelsmann Investments, and Speedinvest, for their continued support. Oliver Heimes will join the board. None of this is possible without our partners across the European healthcare system and the patients we serve. Doccla was founded to provide hospital-level care and support at home for multiple patient profiles across the acuity spectrum: enabling the early discharge of patients, as well as ensuring that for those with chronic care needs, hospital admission might be avoided in the first place. The funding will be used to further consolidate our market-leading position in the UK and Ireland (where we recently launched with the Health Service Executive), while looking to expand in France and the DACH region, and build upon our Pharma work. Head to the comments for links to articles about today’s news. Particular thanks to... Vijay Barathan, MD Samantha J. Chris Bischoff Alexandre Momeni Tim Schneider Agnes Eva Uhr, LL.M. NHS-anchored healthtech investment + Labour Party councillor and Industrial Strategy Ambassador for Hammersmith & Fulham
I'm at the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme Big Pitch event tonight showcasing its 8th cohort and clearly going from strength to strength with multiple NHS sites across the country signed up to deploy and scale the ideas coming from it... We need to give our clinical workforce as much support as possible to nurture and scale high quality innovations. It is part of the seismic culture change and investment in NHS innovation, key to recruitment and retention of our NHS staff and forms an ideal investment pipeline for the KHP Ventures as the first and only NHS-founded and backed venture fund. Always pleased to see our portfolio founders and NHSCE veterans Saif Ahmad from 52North - creators of Neutrocheck® and Krishan Ramdoo from TympaHealth Technologies Ltd take to the stage with slick pitches, sage observations and advice and proven evidence and impact of their technologies in the NHS and internationally.
