About us

Modern job searching is far from simple as the game has changed. Interviews have changed, networking has changed, and it is estimated that 85% of senior roles are never advertised and exist only in the “hidden market”. It is no wonder that many leaders on the move lose confidence, lose clarity and struggle to attract the type of role they desire. The Job Search Playbook will change your perspective and help you create your own simple, clear go–to market plan so you can reach your peak during your job searching activities and gain an edge at every stage. A REMINDER THAT YOU MISS 100% OF THE SHOTS YOU DONT TAKE So don’t buy your own bull. 3 times I tried to talk myself out of publishing a book. 📚 3 times! The third time was when it was already written. 🤷♂️ We seem to move from excitement about a new project or activity to self sabotage so quickly. The nagging doubts, the fear of judgement and procrastination all make an appearance. It’s nuts. And yet here we sit a couple of weeks post launch and to my surprise we have sold hundreds of copies of The Job Search Playbook all over the world. We have had 30 amazing Amazon reviews. And most importantly people are messaging us to explain the impact this short book has had on them and how different they now feel about their job search....that has been mega. Nothing will compare to that feeling and it seems crazy now that the book so was close to never happening. So to whoever needs to hear this today....don’t let that inner critic win. What are you talking yourself out of? Let’s get to work! 💪 #careercoach #jobsearch

Empowering professional women to create a fulfilling, impactful and exciting new career | progress | be challenged | be re-energised | be happy! |

Thinking of changing career next year? Fill your Christmas stocking with these 👇🏻 I love a good book! I love to learn from others. These are my book recommendations for anyone considering a career change in 2025. 1. The Career Stories Method: 11 Steps to Find Your Ideal Career - And Discover Your Awesome Self in the Process by Kerri Twigg (not pictured because it's on my Kindle) I like this book because it has practical, helpful, activities that unlock the stories of our careers and lives. We are the sum of the stories we tell about ourselves. Our CV, our answers in an interview, are all different ways of telling those stories. It will change the way you think about your career and yourself. 2. Atomic Habits by James Clear (not pictured because I have it as an audio book) Whilst not focused on career change, it is about building those habits that support you becoming who you want to be in your career. Whether that's someone who focuses on their goals, makes more connections, makes progress, has a greater sense of achievement and impact, travels more, is more confident, or manages their time better, it all starts with building the habits to support that change. 3. How to Get a Job You Love: Find a Job Worth Getting Up For by John Lees (12th edition now available) Packed with practical exercises that help you to connect with a job that will work with you. It has lots of great advice on how to find that job and secure it with a great interview. 4. The Squiggly Career by Helen Tupper and Sarah Ellis This colourful book starts by acknowledging that our careers are rarely linear. It then provides lots of great exercises to help you discover opportunity and design your career. That could be by changing the way you work, or by changing your career wholesale. 5. Love Work by Ben Renshaw and Sophie Devonshire⚡️ We all want to thrive at work and this book takes you through the seven steps to do just that. Packed with case studies and well thought out activities to help you apply the seven steps to your work, this is a must have for your book shelf. 6. The Job Search Playbook by Andrew MacAskill Written at a time of great change, this book is still relevant today. With AI tools being used more and more in the recruitment industry, Andrew's book focuses on the hidden job market and how to access it. Still one of my favourites for advice on how to leverage LinkedIn. 7. Do what you are by Paul D. Tieger, Barbara Barron and Kelly Tieger This book is focuses on discovery of the perfect career through your personality type. With case studies, suggestions for customising your job search and defining your career satisfaction, it pulls it all together with an easy to follow ten step process to create your personal career plan. There are many books on the market designed to help you find your most rewarding career path. Do you have a recommendation to share? #CareerBooks #CareerChange #BookRecommendations

I think this is JUST UNACCEPTABLE - do you? Turn up to start the new role you accepted 4 weeks ago and had all the paperwork agreed and signed to find out No one knows about you! YEP, the Hiring Manager is on annual leave and the HR Manager is on a long weekend break so there is no welcoming party. Let alone a laptop, there is no email address, no mobile not even a clean workspace area ....... Do you go home? What would you do? Seriously we know it is the holiday season but that is just poor. (a message sent to me by an ECJer recently hired!)

  • Key word optimisation, why do it ? We believe using the industry keywords within your profile that are well know and relevant in your industry will help you get found and returned in search results on LinkedIn. Tailoring your headline, about box and experience titles with key terms that a hiring professionals would use to find candidates, aids to leveraging your profile. Align your profile with the language and words your industry is using. Do you agree? Let's Get To Work

  • "The Job Search Playbook completely unlocked my job search " A quote from a jobseeker who before reading was feeling so low and sad they were broken and housebound. **Chrissie** was brought our book by her husband. She reached out to Zoe in desperation, her words not ours. After loosing her job 6months ago, she has isolated herself and suffered panic attacks, due to feeling so embarrassed following being made redundant. Only her immediate family know she is unemployed. NO-ONE should feel awkward in telling others they have gone through redundancy. NO-ONE should be ashamed or embarrassed to have lost their job through company restructures and cut backs IT IS NOT IN YOUR CONTROL BUT HOW YOU REACT TO THE CHANGE IS!! Withdrawing from your normal life will not enable you to bring your full self job application process, not to mention the interviewing table. REACH OUT you are not on your own Let's Get To Work
