This card is a testament to our brand essence of 'Making a Material Difference,' highlighting our unwavering commitment to world-class service, innovation, and sustainability. Technological Innovation and Sustainable Design The 2024 Christmas card is a blend of cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices. The design features a tree, symbolising Christmas, celebration, and a source of fibre, while the Cropper pigeon, a significant part of our history and heritage, is honoured as a decoration, celebrating our legacy. This intricate design is made possible through advanced in-house embossing capabilities and printing techniques that ensure precision and quality. The geometric pinhead emboss applied to our Forest Green card paper elevate our brand essence and the tactile experience of the card. We offer a choice of more than 30 different embossing patterns, including textile weaves, leathers, rippling effects, and intricate geometrics in grid, spot, or linear formations to further enhance our premium papers and boards. Bespoke patterns can also be developed if required. Premium Materials Printed on our new company colours—Forest Green 270gsm with a Pinhead Emboss and Heritage White 120gsm—this card not only looks stunning but also reflects our dedication to sustainability. The materials used are sourced responsibly, ensuring minimal environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of quality. James Cropper’s Vision for a Sustainable Future We aim to establish a sustainable closed-loop system that diverts textile waste from landfills and incineration, fostering a circular economy. This initiative is part of our broader efforts to transform post-consumer waste. From Cupcycling, the world’s first technology to upcycle used coffee cups, to Rydal, which incorporates used jeans into fully recyclable paper, and a pilot project extracting cotton fibres from used hotel bedsheets, we are dedicated to turning waste into beautiful, sustainable paper products and making a material difference, everyday.
James Cropper and Untouched World Unveil Innovative Garment Tags We have partnered with New Zealand lifestyle brand Untouched World to launch premium garment tags made from recycled denim and coffee cups. With denim production contributing significantly to global textile waste, James Cropper has developed Rydal Apparel, a 100% recycled material composed of 20% post-consumer denim fibre and 80% recycled fibre from sources like coffee cups. This cellulose-based product is globally recyclable, offering multiple life cycles. Untouched World, committed to the circular economy, will use Rydal Apparel for swing tags on its new recycled denim tote bags, coinciding with the opening of its new store in Auckland. Untouched World chose James Cropper for its sustainability goals, aiming for operational net zero by 2030 and a net zero supply chain by 2050. Kate Gilpin, Product Manager at James Cropper, stated, “Innovations like Rydal Apparel enable the fashion industry to embrace a circular economy. Brands like Untouched World demonstrate how simple changes can significantly impact our planet.” Learn more - https://lnkd.in/epKS-YP8 #circulareconomy #recyclefashion #wornandreborn

This morning, we honored our heroes with a wreath-laying ceremony at Burneside Mill, led by our CEO, Steve Adams. Steve served for more than 8 years in the Territorial Army with the Royal Anglian Regiment. The wreath laying was followed by a company-wide 2-minute silence at 11 am. Steve Adams, CEO, recited The Exhortation. Followed by Andy Edgar, a James Cropper employee and former member of the 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, playing The Last Post, joined by fellow ex-service employees. This silence was a tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. On November 11, 1918, at 11 am, the guns of Europe fell silent, marking the end of The Great War. Lest We Forget. Today, we remember the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community from Britain and the Commonwealth. #LestWeForget #RemembranceDay #ArmisticeDay #ServiceAndSacrifice #FallenSoldier

We are proud to celebrate 46 years of partnership with the Royal British Legion. Since 1978, when the RBL sought a colour-fast, biodegradable paper alternative for the fabric poppy, we have been at the forefront of innovation. We are thrilled to have developed a 100% recyclable poppy, aligning with the RBL’s mission to reduce single-use plastics and promote sustainability. Our annual involvement in this project is a privilege, and we deeply value the significance of this symbol for countless families and the nation. At James Cropper, we are proud of our role in creating this iconic emblem of respect and remembrance.
Since 1978, our paper mill has proudly manufactured red and green papers that are transformed into millions of poppies for the annual Poppy Appeal, supporting the Armed Forces community. Each year, we honor the profound significance of this symbol for families and the nation. Last year, we introduced the 100% paper poppy, cutting carbon emissions by 40%. Free from single-use plastic, it’s fully recyclable in standard paper collections. This innovation aligns with the charity’s mission to eliminate single-use plastic, promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility. The new poppy retains its iconic design and can be pinned, buttonholed, or stuck on. Celebrating 45 years with the RBL, our paper for the new poppy blends renewable fibers, with 50% sourced from recycled coffee cups via James Cropper’s CupCycling facility in Cumbria. At James Cropper, we take immense pride in our enduring role in producing the paper poppy, a global symbol of respect and remembrance. #paperpoppy #remembrance
