Sustainability in Schools: Bringing Operations into the Classroom 🌿 Schools play a crucial role in shaping the next generation’s approach to sustainability. Integrating sustainability into every aspect of school life creates lasting behavioural change and helps tackle growing challenges like climate anxiety! The UK Schools Sustainability Network (UKSSN) highlights the importance of engaging students, staff, and communities in sustainability initiatives. Innovative programmes, like the ‘St Bart’s Super Gang’, demonstrate how operational practices, such as waste reduction and energy efficiency, can inspire and educate pupils in fun and impactful ways. At ISC Future Finance, we’re proud to support schools in implementing their Climate Action Plans by providing tailored funding solutions. From energy-efficient upgrades to biodiversity projects, we help schools access the resources they need to make sustainability a reality. Together, we can empower the next generation to lead the way toward a greener future. 💚 #EducationForSustainability #ClimateAction #SchoolFunding #SustainabilityInEducation

Farm succession has always been a complex issue, but for women, it often comes with additional challenges. According to Farmers Weekly’s 2024 survey, only 36% of women believe they are treated equally in succession decisions - down significantly from 69% in 2014. These findings highlight the urgent need for more equitable practices in farm succession planning, ensuring that opportunities are distributed fairly regardless of gender. Succession isn’t just about passing on land - it’s about preserving the future of farming by empowering all family members to contribute their skills and vision. At ISC Future Finance, we’re committed to supporting farmers through every stage of their journey. Whether it’s funding for expansion, diversification, or generational planning, we help farming families secure the future of their businesses. Together, we can drive progress and ensure fairness for all in agriculture. #FarmSuccession #EqualityInFarming #AgricultureFinance #FairFarming 💚

Updated Plans for the Sustainable Farming Scheme Announced 🌱 At the Royal Welsh Winter Fair, the Deputy First Minister, Huw Irranca-Davies, revealed significant updates to the Sustainable Farming Scheme (SFS). These changes aim to balance the needs of Welsh farmers with the goals of climate action and biodiversity. Key updates include: ✅ A reduction in Universal Actions from 17 to 12, with increased flexibility for farmers to choose additional Optional and Collaborative Actions. ✅ The removal of a mandatory 10% tree cover requirement, replaced with a scheme-wide target and funding support for voluntary tree planting and hedgerow creation. ✅ Simplified animal health and welfare requirements, merged into a single Universal Action. ✅ Payments for social value included in the Universal Payment to recognise the wider benefits of sustainable farming. This collaborative approach, involving farming unions, environmental groups, and government, reflects progress toward a scheme that supports farmers' economic resilience, food production, and environmental stewardship. As Huw said: “Farmers are at the heart of communities across Wales, playing a crucial role in protecting and restoring nature while tackling the climate emergency.” At ISC Future Finance, we’re proud to support farmers as they navigate these changes. Whether funding sustainable projects or exploring ways to adapt and grow, we’re here to help farming families secure their futures. 💬 What do you think about the updated scheme? Changes to Inheritance Tax: What Does it Mean for Farmers? The recent Budget announcement of a £1m cap on Agricultural Property Relief (APR) has sparked widespread concern among farmers. Starting in April 2026, inherited agricultural assets worth over £1m will face a 20% inheritance tax rate on the excess, impacting family farms and raising questions about the future of UK agriculture. While the Government states that only the "richest estates" will be affected, many in the industry warn of unintended consequences. For farmers, land is not just an asset; it’s their livelihood and legacy. With farm profits averaging just £45,300 annually, meeting these additional tax obligations could be a significant burden. Diversifying revenue streams, managing farm profitability, and securing tailored financial solutions have never been more important. At ISC Future Finance, we’re here to help farming families navigate these challenges, offering guidance and support to protect their businesses for future generations. 💬 What’s your take on the changes? Braving the Snow at the Midlands Machinery Show! 🚜 It was a chilly one this year at the Show! The snowy backdrop added a unique beauty to the incredible range of equipment on display. Our founder, Rachel Galbraith reflected on her nearly two decades of attending this event – and this year certainly didn’t disappoint! 🌿 From catching up with long-time clients and suppliers to meeting new faces, the show was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the farming community. Despite many visitors having taken part in yesterday’s march in London for fairness and succession, their commitment to this event was inspiring. We’re proud to offer practical funding solutions for a wide range of agricultural assets – from drills, harvesters, and irrigation equipment to solar panels and more. With increasing grants available for machinery and renewables, ISC Future Finance can help provide funding alongside or ahead of grant receipts. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat. Events like this remind us why we’re so passionate about supporting the agricultural sector. 📸 Check out some snapshots from the day below. #MidlandsMachineryShow #AgricultureFinance #FarmInnovation #FarmingCommunity 💚

Supporting Our Farmers for a Secure Future 🍏 We understand how vital farmers are to the UK’s food security and the challenges they face. Potential changes to Agricultural Property Relief (APR) raise significant concerns. The removal or limitation of APR, often referred to as the “Family Farm Tax,” could severely impact the availability of farmland for tenancies and contracts. This access is essential, especially for small family farming businesses and first-time farmers looking to enter the industry. Farming businesses are already navigating a complex landscape of rising costs, labour shortages, and supply chain demands. Removing APR could be the final burden, pushing some businesses to breaking point. We urge policymakers to consider these implications carefully, as the future of our food security and rural communities is at stake Olly Harrison DL NFU (National Farmers' Union) The Farming Community Network Rachael Watson #FoodSecurity #AgricultureFinance #Farming #GovernmentPolicy #SupportOurFarmers

Recognising Farmers for Their Environmental Contributions… In the push for sustainable practices, it’s crucial that our farmers receive the proper credit for the essential work they’re doing. NFU SCOTLAND’s outgoing president, Martin Kennedy, recently highlighted the "world-leading" environmental contributions of Scottish farmers at the union's annual conference. Kennedy called for greater recognition of farmers’ role in promoting sustainable food production, raising concerns about how some businesses’ greenwashing tactics undermine genuine carbon credits from agriculture. As advocates for sustainable business finance in this industry, we at ISC Future Finance believe in backing the environmental achievements of the farming community 💚 #Sustainability #AgricultureFinance #Farming #CarbonCredits #SupportFarmers Source: Farming UK Ltd
