    • Every 5 minutes, someone, somewhere in the world is diagnosed with MS.
  • When it comes to giving someone a life-changing diagnosis, it’s important to remember that patients are people first, diagnosis second. Charlotte and Katelyn from Caudex | An IPG Health Company recently discussed how they develop person-focused healthcare materials that address practical challenges and emotional wellbeing alongside the person’s medical diagnosis in pharmaphorum's latest piece. • We caught up with Jennifer, Director Regulatory Writing at Complete Regulatory | An IPG Health Company, to learn more about her role, what she gets up to outside of work, and how her little boy Henry has inspired her from the moment he was born. 👩🎓🏊♀️👩👦💙 🌟 Can you give us a brief summary of what you do in your role? In my role as Director, Regulatory Writing, I work on a wide range of clinical documents for submission to Health Authorities. From clinical study protocols to high-level summaries, and I really enjoy the variety of work I undertake. I also assist in the training of more junior team members by delegating tasks and providing feedback. 🌟 What brought you to Med Comms? I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in North Wales for a few years, however when my contract came to an end, I decided I wanted to move away from the fixed-term contracts of academia and look for a ‘grown-up’ job. I hadn’t heard of Med Comms as a career path but had enjoyed writing up my research, so it seemed a good fit for me. I was particularly interested in Regulatory Writing as I found the range of documents and therapy areas it would allow me to work on appealing. 🌟 What makes you proud to work for IPG Health Medical Communications? I’m proud to part of an incredibly friendly, caring team. The Complete Regulatory team always look out for each other, whether it’s our professional or personal life. Coming from academia, I found it very refreshing working for a team that really wants each individual to succeed. 🌟 What has been your biggest achievement to date? My biggest achievement has to be supporting my son through a liver transplant just before his first birthday. Henry was born with a rare condition called biliary atresia, which meant his gallbladder did not form properly and the bile ducts in his liver were blocked. He’s been through numerous surgeries in his short life but his biggest has to be his transplant in July 2023. To see such a tiny person fighting so hard and with little complaint has been so inspiring and has really helped me see what is important in life. 🌟 What do you like to do when you’re not working? When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family out on walks or swimming. I am also trying to get back in to running, so I’m currently completing Couch to 5K. 🌟 How do you look after your own wellbeing? I used to struggle with looking after myself but have recently learned you have to look after yourself to look after others. I definitely haven’t mastered this yet, but I try to ask for help when I need it and accept help from others when they offer it. 🌟 List three words to best describe you? Hard-working, patient, resilient. 🌟 What song is top of your playlist right now? I have a very broad taste in music, but "Heads Will Roll" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs always becomes a favorite as we approach Halloween. 🎃 🔎 Continue reading in the comments below 👇
