Another fantastic #P4H2024 delivered by the team at the Institute of Hospitality. I have been lucky enough to be involved with this fabulous day for a number of years and each time an thrilled by the number of great students I meet lining up to join the industry. This year I helped deliver mock interviews and a CV clinic, including this great bunch from the CRUMBS Project. Well done to all attendees - and special mention to the stalwarts representing sectors in the new Battle of the Sectors competition…well won Michael Kill! Firstly, a huge thank you to the Institute of Hospitality and it’s Youth Council for creating such an empowering event as well as Maria Gebbels, PhD for allowing me to join! But as a master’s student passionate about building a career in hospitality, today’s Passion4Hospitality 2024 at Novotel London West was nothing short of inspiring! Today’s experience taught me lots, but mostly that I need to step out of my comfort zone, connect and talk with more people, embrace the endless opportunities this field has to offer and keep on learning. A massive shout out to Harsh Sodhani AIH for all the LinkedIn tips as well, I look forward to taking them all onboard and taking my LinkedIn to a new level! Also want to give Nafha Thabet a massive congratulations on her achievements today too! But throughout today I had some very good discussions regarding the industry and it’s prospects as well as different ways to excel within it. Each more mind opening than the last, all while finding places for my internship and consultancy project later on next year!
