For over 20 years, IMRG (Interactive Media in Retail Group) has been the voice of eCommerce in the UK. We are a membership community comprising businesses of all sizes – multichannel and pureplay, SME and multinational, and solution providers to industry. We support our members through a range of activities – including market tracking and insight, benchmarking and best practice sharing. Our indexes provide in-depth intelligence on online sales, mobile sales, delivery trends and over 40 additional KPIs. Our goal is to ensure our members have the information and resources they need to succeed in rapidly-evolving markets – both domestically and internationally.

    📈IMRG’s Weekly Ecommerce Round-up Online retail in October reported a +1% Year-on-Year (YoY) increase in our Online Retail Index, marking the second consecutive month of positive-territory growth for the industry. A special mention goes out to Electricals retailers who experienced their best growth of the year so far, at +2.4% YoY in October – notably driven by Accessories & Hobbies (+9.8% YoY) and Audio (+8.7% YoY). Despite some good news, revenue for the total online market has declined over the past three weeks, with the last week of October showing the biggest drop in five months (-5.9% YoY). Interestingly, this week’s data includes Friday 1st November, marking the start of Black Friday campaigns for many retailers, yet the industry showed no signs of picking up. It looks like it may be a tough peak trading period this year. Time will tell! Keep an eye out for our post next week.     ‘Black November’ is officially here! And Bloomreach has essential tactics to help you boost performance this season!     📈IMRG’s Weekly Ecommerce Round-up Retailers were hopeful the -3.7% YoY dip in Wk 3 of October was just a temporary setback. However, Wk 4 revealed a steeper drop at -4.7% YoY—the biggest decline since early June 2024. This drop was driven primarily by Clothing retailers, who saw a significant -10.8% YoY downturn. However, it wasn’t all negative! Health & Beauty continued its strong performance with +17.7% YoY growth, and Home & Garden saw a +2.8% YoY lift, led by garden furnishings as customers prepared for Halloween.
