MBA Health Journey: Career Wednesdays - 4th December Sometimes, all we need is a safe space to practice and refine our skills, and today was just that! Huge thanks to Dr Preethi J. for an incredibly productive interview coaching session. While I’ve appeared for numerous interviews throughout my professional journey, today offered a fresh perspective. The feedback from both professionals as well as my peers was invaluable. It allowed me to reflect on my strengths and weaknesses—not just in how I present my skills but also in how I perceive myself. One key takeaway: I can be overly self-critical, often overlooking my strengths. Today reminded me of the importance of recognising and celebrating achievements alongside addressing shortcomings. A self-pat on the back, every now and then, is a vital reminder that I am not just a sum of my mistakes, but also of my successes. And all of this before noon! The afternoon brought yet another impactful session with Impact Factory Training and Development. It was wonderful to reconnect with Paul Hughes, Lesley Vickerage, Janet Addison, and to meet Bill Sheehan. Although Katie Kensit wasn't part of today's team, her previous encouragement still resonates with me. Her thoughtful approach helped me embrace my neurodiversity as an integral part of my MBA journey—something I continue to value deeply. Their sessions always push me out of my comfort zone and encourage growth. Today’s themes in their usual playful manner were: - Dialling up confidence and matching energy. - Understanding the connection between Credibility, Reliability, Intimacy and Self-Interest in building trust. - Exploring Robert Cialdini’s principles of influence—a deep dive into what makes us influential and how we connect meaningfully with others. As a neurodiverse person, I find many of these techniques challenging, but the warmth, empathy, and encouragement from the Impact Factory team always motivate me to give my best. Each session with them disrupts my assumptions, broadens my perspective, and fosters growth.
