As we approach the end of 2024, here are some smart money moves you should make to prepare for the year ahead: 👓 Review your investments: How are they performing? Do you need to adjust or re-allocate anything? 📝 Complete some pension admin: Check that your personal details are still accurate and that your retirement age is still on target. 🔎 Track down ‘lost’ pensions: Go through your employment history, see if you can track any missing pots with the pension tracing service. ⏰ Ensure your beneficiaries are up to date: You don’t want your savings going to the wrong place, or worse the wrong person! 📅 Arrange your next financial review: Annual reviews with a financial planner or adviser is a great strategy to keep on track and focused. Do you have any to add to the list? Comment your ideas below. #IFGLPensions #FinancialChecklist #EOY2024

Transfers to Malta or Gibraltar based QROPS pensions have been popular for EEA residents. However the changes announced in the UK’s October 2024 Budget will introduce a 25% charge for many of these transfers and likely rule them out for many individuals. What are your options? Wanting an escape from the dreary weather, or got post-budget blues? We don’t blame you 🌧️ The IFGL SIPP allows you to work with your financial adviser to transfer and consolidate benefits from your UK-registered pensions easily to your new country of residence, without losing the protection of the UK Financial Conduct Authority, under which IFGL Pensions is regulated. Other investment vehicles such as a QROPS don’t provide this safety net, and often allow more unusual and higher-risk types of investment which leads to a greater risk of losing money. So you can avoid the winter weather for the long-term, worry free! If you’re planning on emigrating, where are you headed? 🌍 Got another location in mind? Comment below 👇

For some years, the QROPS has been the favoured retirement vehicle for use by expats who have settled overseas and have no immediate plans to return to the UK. However, the abolition of the lifetime allowance and the lifetime allowance charge has now moved the goalposts and in our opinion an International SIPP might be a better alternative for many investors. Our QROPS v SIPP guide compares the two pension products and explains why a QROPS might not automatically be the better option for an overseas resident: https://lnkd.in/eeG9VzWn #IFGLPensions #SIPP #QROPS

Across the UK there are over 5.51 million Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) – of which over 21% have just 1-9 employees (Source: Gov.uk, 2023). Owners of SME’s who like the idea of having more control over their pension arrangements could benefit from an IFGL SSAS. A SSAS is designed to have less than 12 members, where everyone controls the investment strategy. As well as serving the role of a traditional pension scheme, funds can be borrowed from the scheme to help grow the company or to buy commercial property. This is ideal for projects that may otherwise require expensive bank loans.
