Growing revenue through gamified loyalty programs is often underestimated. This 7-Eleven Nordics case study is a prime example of this. The approach isn't about creating games for the sake of it; it's about significantly enhancing user engagement and attention, delivering real results. In this case study, the team at Liquid Barcodes analyzed data over a two-year period and found that app sessions, with games, increased from 3 to 8 times, compared to the same period without games. Their analysis also highlights that: ✅ Games not only capture loyalty members' attention but convert that attention into real-world transactions, thereby increasing loyalty and revenue per loyalty member. ✅ Plus, gamification re-engages inactive loyalty members and attracts new loyalty members. This is an interesting read illustrating how the team at Liquid Barcodes continue to advance gamification, with a complete overhaul their game platform, making it easier than ever to deliver interactive and rewarding loyalty experiences. Following our very successful Insight Research 'Market Focus' event ahead of forecourttech in the Iberia market, next March 19-20th we turn to the biggest market in Europe - Germany and spending time with the key market players: bp/Aral, Shell, EG Group, TotalEnergies, Circle K, Jet, ORLEN Deutschland GmbH, HEM, Valora Group, Lekkerland SE/REWE and EDEKA. We are also delighted to announce that during the event, Frank Gleeson and Dan Munford will be sharing learnings from our ‘Best Foodvenience Store’ 2024 and ‘Best EV Hub’ 2025 competitions. ✅The importance of Germany for the petrol station industry becomes clear when comparing fuel sales in 2023 of around 50 million tons (33 million diesel / 17 million petrol) compared to 36 million tons (24 million diesel / 11 million petrol) in the UK. ✅Since 2010, the number of passenger cars registered in Germany has risen from around 41.7 million to over 49 million vehicles at the start of 2024 (in 2024 France: 45mln and UK: 41mln). Interestingly, the number of purely electric cars has risen from a marginal number of 1,588 units in 2010 to over 1.4 million purely electrically powered cars in 2024. This illustrates the increasing acceptance and penetration of e-mobility. After retail site visits and networking with the best roadside retailers in the German industry, The Retail Marketeers ‘Convenience Leaders Convention’ 2025 takes place. This premier annual event, owned by global convenience guru and DACH market expert Christian Warning, is the only English-speaking gathering for our industry in German-speaking markets, and a must-attend event in the European convenience calendar.
