    If you're in Ecomm, it's crunch time! It does feel like November will never end this year and although hope is never a strategy, at this stage, you can only hope you've done everything you could to deliver the right strategy for your clients. Now, despite everything being in place, A LOT needs to happen behind the scenes to ensure you maximise performance for your clients. I wish I could share all the Slack conversations that's going on over here, but instead I'll do a round up... 👉 Seasonality adjustment should be your best friend this week on PPC - combined with tROAS changes and budget management. Granularity is key. 👉 Nothing goes 100% according to plan - review actual performance and make changes based on Demand. This year especially with Black Friday being so late in the month, and on payday for many. 👉 Hold your nerves - consumers know how to play the game. Paid Search, and other channels, are being used as comparison tools before making that final sale. Don't get tied to very strict COS/ROAS as you might miss out on future sales. 👉 If you're managing multiple channels, talk to various teams - you may have a target to achieve but there might be a more cost-effective way of driving that final sale 👉 Every vertical is different and there's simply not a one-size fits all approach. From electrical to luxury jewelry, don't forget how your audience engage with your ads in the first place. 👉 There will be things that you simply cannot control - Amazon has popped up in all auctions and are now placing ads using a CSS (their CPCs have become 20% cheaper), unlike last year. 👉 Keep the communication fluid this week - and this weekend to ensure you maximise opportunity on the right day. No one wants to come back on Monday with a hole in their budgets... 👉 Trust your experience - Google's AI tools are best placed to put your ad in front of the right audience but YOU have the control over account structure, copy, creative, and so much more. Lastly - you're not saving lives, you're only managing bids so do your best, and have a clear plan in place before doing a post-peak deep-dive with your teams. Take care and Happy Black Friday!

    The excitement/anticipation is definitely building for the big day next week! Whilst many retailers are already on offer or launching imminently I feel the expectation of Black Friday falling on a pay day weekend is high! In affiliate terms many of the plans have been made now and packages secured, but there is still plenty you can be doing to capitalise on this crazy period. My last minute affiliate Black Friday top tips are: 🔍 Audit, audit and audit some more - we aren’t just auditing the sites we have paid for booked exposure in but making sure as many of our partners sites as possible list (the correct) offer. 📈 CPA increases on consumer facing sites like cashback or loyalty platforms are a good thing to do now if you have not already. This sounds obvious but sometimes smaller brands that have not had the budget to invest in packages don’t feel a higher rate will be enough. But I say - do it! Increase your rate now to get a halo effect on large publisher sites with increased traffic during this time. Do this with your quality and trusted partners on your programme as a priority. 🖼 Although most editorial will be planned and have gone live now, there are Black Friday deal round ups still going live. If you have a really great product deal, send it to your content partners and increase your CPA to higher than average for content - it's not a guarantee of exposure and still at the editor's discretion but you might just reach the right person at the right time! ⬆ Many retailers will go straight from Black Friday into sale or at least be on sale again a few weeks after - if you haven’t optimised your CSS partners commission rates do it now! It’s too late for Black Friday as that takes time to build performance but by uplifting CPAs now you will be ahead for boxing day sales into January. 👀 Keep an eye on competitors - this might not affect your strategy now but could help for next year and those all important round ups. We are tracking this information as it can help give context on trends but also gives an overview on partner strategy of other key brands. Finally - have the caffeine ready! PS I would really love anyone else to add any last minute Black Friday affiliate tips they have to this thread? There is still all to play for!

After checking in with clients + prospects this week, it feels like a lot of people are nervous 🫣 With Boots kicking off their Black Friday offers already, we can feel the tension as other retailers wait for theirs to go live 👀 So to whoever needs to hear this today ... It is such an important time it can be easy to panic, but don't forget all of the hours you've spent on researching, building your strategy and lining everything up to deliver the best peak for YOUR brand.     What a week we've had .... 👉 5 talks across the 2 day PI Live Show 👉 3 new potential client meetings 👉 2 pitches 👉 1 day video shoot for our new company positioning And we've got to shout out Imogen + Dan's GA4 talk... a session that went so well, it maxed out the seating and people queued all the way up the stairs trying to get a snapshot of it 🔥🔥🔥 Huge shoutout to the whole team putting themselves out there this week + holding down the fort, in what's proving to be a very busy peak already. Roll on next week!

    Google changes how Standard Shopping and Pmax interact with each other... just in time for Peak 📈 Pmax will no longer be prioritised if it runs alongside standard shopping within the same Google Ads account. Instead 'the campaign with the highest AdRank will serve'. Fine. Unless you are using brand exclusion on Pmax and capturing those branded search queries via standard shopping; allowing you to report on brand v. non-brand activity. Let's not panic. There isn't a deadline as of yet, and as always, it's a case of monitoring your account closely and working out which option is the most suitable based on your account/ business objectives - keeping your current account structure, merging campaigns, using brand exclusion on Pmax. Keep your eyes peeled on that one 👀

    We spilt the tea 👀 Yesterday at DTC Live, Emily hosted a session on "Building an Omnichannel CommuniTEA" with the amazing Alixandra from Bird & Blend Tea Co. B Corp 🍵 They truly steeped the conversation to perfection! ✨ As you'd expect, they dove into the art of blending customer experience across channels, just like the perfect cup of tea. Such a strong way to finish the week! Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it a tea-rific session. NB - We'll stop the tea puns the moment the weekend starts 😉
