🎁 Giving at Gattaca continues this festive season 🎄 Fresh off our record-breaking PICU Giving Tree collection, team Cape Town is also spreading hope this Christmas in their local community by donating toys and essential goods to children living in safe houses due to domestic violence and homelessness. These safe houses provide comfort and security to women and children in difficult times, and we’re pleased to be able to contribute to making this season brighter for the children and families they support. 🎅It's the most wonderful time of the year...🎵 No, really - Friends of PICU pickup day is one of our absolute favourite days of the year. Every year, our teams from across the country (and even globally!) come together to make Christmas magic for children staying in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit in Southampton over the festive season, by donating toys and games to help give a sense of normality in a time that feels anything but... But this year's collection day was especially sweet. Our wonderful colleagues have gone above and beyond, clearing the giving tree of tags and delivering an incredible 200 presents! At this rate, Gattacans are on track to rival Santa himself... Thanks especially to Lucy Pope, Tiffany Ferreira and Lucy Penny in our Whiteley HQ for driving this initiative amongst our colleagues, and thank you as always to Friends of PICU for the incredible work they do year-round to help these children! On Friday, we did something we’ve never done before… We took 90% of our salesforce away from their desks for the entire day for our inaugural Gattaca Sales Conference. An unconventional choice? Possibly. But a productive one... Across the day, our 250 strong team collectively completed nearly 2,000 hours of training, with sessions designed to support consultants at every level of their careers. This focus on development is central to helping us grow, adapt, and continue meeting the evolving needs of our clients and candidates in a fast-changing market. Yesterday's breakfast event, Employment Law: All You Need to Know provided valuable insights into the proposed legislative changes from a legal perspective delivered by Sian Hoare from Shoosmiths LLP, though there are still many questions left unanswered. Kate Shoesmith from the REC offered a unique behind-the-scenes view on the evolving landscape. As she says for HR leaders, it’s crucial to make your voices heard in the government’s consultation process, by doing this you'll be helping shape fair and balanced policies, ensuring workers are paid fairly for their work. Although these changes aren’t imminent, by engaging in consultation, preparing, and collaborating across our industry, we position ourselves well for whatever comes next. #EmploymentLaw #HR
