Last week, FWB and EY hosted the first in what will be a biannual dinner series for CEOs and Board Directors across the public sector. The topic was Scotland's public sector's role in economic growth and the discussions of the evening were wide-ranging and stimulating with senior leaders from across the sector bringing differing and interesting perspectives on the subject. We were delighted to be joined by Innes McFee, of Oxford Economics, who stimulated discussion on public sector productivity, why Scotland's growth is lagging behind the rest of the UK, and how Scotland ''makes the most of what we have' and attracts inward investment from abroad. We also discussed the role of HE and FE in addressing skills shortages and unemployment, Scotland's relationship with China and the benefit that Green Freeports are bringing to local and national economies. Thank you to all our guests for joining us and to Contini for the excellent hospitality. We are already looking forward to the next one in early Summer. #FWBEvents #PublicSector #EconomicGrowth Kirsten Hendry Graham Burns Philip Milne Tricia Nelson Amanda Lunan
