About us
We are group of young people dedicated to making youth voice and participation opportunities accessible and meaningful for all young people. Under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, all under 18s have the right to have their views listened to and taken seriously. From our own experiences within this sector, we have identified that the same group and demographic of young people are often the ones to get their voices heard. The way this system is built is excluding the majority of young people. Within Future Youth Impact, we work with young people in their own environments (e.g., schools and youth groups) to share their opinions through a creative format. After the session, we compile a report and feed this back to decision-makers. Every member of team is committed to using their networks to advocate for the views of all young people and promote inclusivity in participation.

We are pleased to be sharing that Future Youth Impact Founder Arthur Templeman-Lilley is currently en route to Geneva for the Children's Rights European Academic Network Conference 2024. This year’s focus is Collaborative Research in Children’s Rights - Fostering Dialogue Between Academia and Society. In Future Youth Impact, we want to use our experiences as #uncrc rights holders and child rights defenders to engage with our peers on the ground, whilst advocating for them on strategic and policy levels. We will be presenting in a parallel session this Thursday afternoon with the overarching theme of ‘child participation in research to inform policy debate’. Our presentation is all about the Power of Youth-Led Research. We will be sharing the mission of team FYI, insights from a previous research project, and best practices for collaborating with young researchers. In the next few days, we will also be launching our resource for academic researchers, which goes in-depth into our experiences of youth-led research. Unfortunately, not everyone in #teamFYI is able to attend the conference in person, but some of our Young Consultants and Young Facilitators have recorded a video where they share what youth-led research means to them. Please like, repost, and comment to make sure that their voices are heard by conference attendees and children’s rights advocates. As always, Article 12 all the way!

After 3 months in draft stage, we are over the moon to finally be sharing our 2024-2026 Strategy: Lift Off. This document defines our purpose and goals as a group of young people dedicated to providing accessible, meaningful, and creative opportunities for youth to have their say. You might remember that last year we ran the Your Views, Your Voice Survey. This data has been used to shape our approaches moving forward. You can find all of the insights from the survey within the strategy. We are excited for the next phase on our mission, and hope you that you continue to follow along as we navigate the youth voice and participation universe.
