As part of our Meet the Team series, this time around we're introducing to Martin Clayton BEng AiMechE. Martin has been in engineering for the last 8 years having graduated from University of the West of England with an Automotive Engineering BEng, starting life as a Design Engineer, then from Applications Engineer to Lead Engineer at Fulton where he is now currently working towards a chartership. This year Martin was excited to bring the VSRT-125 to the UK market and see lots of sales. Next year he is hoping the VSRT-E product development will be just as successful. Outside of work, Martin is a keen runner and triathlete and completed his second ironman in Barcelona earlier this year. It's funny, the perception others in our industry have of this product, not fully realising what this actually is...a steam boiler. But with sub 20ppm NOx, turndown capabilities of up to 10:1 (even 6:1 on a 150kw/hr model - tell me another small steam boiler capable of that) giving proven fuel and Carbon emission's savings of 20% (in extreme cases proven savings of over 30% due to improved steam dryness fraction and system efficiency gains), I can forgive them for thinking it's mythical 😆 🤣 😆 or smoke and mirrors 🧙 🤣 🤣 - truth is, it's just genuine innovation. Since 1974, Truck Tyre Specialists Ltd in England has provided top-tier remold tires for commercial vehicles. Facing the need to replace their aging boiler equipment without compromising their Net Zero commitments, they turned to Fulton Boiler Works (GB) Limited. Two 60 BHP VSRT steam boilers were installed which easily cope with the demand and provide efficiency gains and fuel savings.
