🌎 With over 70 countries going to the polls this year, fact checkers worldwide faced quite the challenge: countering misinformation in the biggest election year in human history. This year 45 fact checking organisations in 26 countries have used our tools in three languages to scale their work and impact. Fifteen of them are based in Africa and seven of those used Full Fact AI to monitor elections. Last week Keir Starmer claimed under Labour there’d been 9,400 returns of people with no right to be in the UK, and that’s up 30% on last year. But there doesn’t appear to be published data to back the second part of his claim up, so we can’t verify it.
