About us
Any good accountancy firm can help with your finance, audit, and tax. But a great accountancy firm does something more. PKF Francis Clark gives you confidence in your decisions. Bringing technical expertise, a fresh perspective, or a listening ear. That’s important. Because, at best, your accounts tell half your business story. Beyond your figures, there’s your ethos. Your goals. The decisions you make. Your finances enable the important things – not the other way around. So truly understanding your business takes time. And that’s what has set us apart since 1919.

More than 80 jobs have been saved after digital pharmacy startup Remedi Solutions was sold to Remedi Healthcare Ltd, a new company founded by experienced digital health entrepreneur Nadeem Sarwar. Remedi Solutions supplies prescription medication via a technology platform to care homes across the country. Nick Harris and Lucinda Coleman, in our business restructuring team, were appointed administrators of Remedi Solutions on Friday 6 December and swiftly sold the business after it suffered cash flow problems. Nick said: “Remedi has a dedicated team delivering a vital service to care homes across the country, using its automated dispensing system. Unfortunately, the business had struggled to achieve the sales volumes needed to be profitable and was facing cash flow problems. “We are delighted to have saved all 83 jobs, especially at this time of year. After initially being appointed by the directors to carry out an options review, we then ran an accelerated marketing process with support from Christie & Co and successfully negotiated the sale of the business in a tight timeframe.” Lucinda added: “Administration is always a last resort, but we are pleased that in this case the business and assets have survived along with the jobs of so many skilled individuals.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/gU8n5bSh #Administration #Insolvency #BusinessRecovery #Restructuring

The UK government plans to adopt the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) standards in the first quarter of 2025. These are a set of guidelines for companies disclosing sustainability-related information. They will affect listed businesses in the first instance, but the government will also decide on the disclosure requirements for other companies - taking into account the costs and benefits of the measures. For more information on the standards, what they are, how they will be implemented and the benefits read the full blog here: https://lnkd.in/ey3aD3vD #ISSB #sustainabilitydisclosures

“I chose an apprenticeship to get real world accounting experience alongside my learning. I felt that would be best for my professional development, being able to do real work for real clients. “The biggest challenge with AAT is balancing study deadlines with work deadlines. It is all manageable with good communication and planning, and my colleagues are happy to help. “I’m never judged when asking questions and can be open about my thoughts. In fact, everybody was very welcoming and supportive from day one. I immediately felt like part of the team. “I’m two years in and I’ve progressed to the level four AAT accounting qualification - and I’m now supporting the new trainees when they join the team. “My advice to anyone starting an AAT apprenticeship is to come in with an open mind as there is a lot to learn. Have confidence in yourself and never be afraid to speak up to ask questions.” Ellie, AAT trainee accountant ✅ Apply for AAT accounting apprenticeships on our website: https://lnkd.in/eF8GavKk #AATApprenticeships #AccountingApprenticeships #ApprenticeshipJobs

Congratulations to Chris Hill who celebrates 10 years at PKF Francis Clark! 🎉 Thank you for your continued hard work and commitment. Chris said: “When I left school, I wanted to become a professional golfer and so studied towards a sports science qualification, tailored towards golf. Unfortunately, a car accident put a stop to that career (daydream), and so I looked at joining the army as an officer. Regrettably, the injuries sustained from my car accident prohibited me from pursuing this career path and so I decided to google ‘best paid jobs’ and there you have my thought process behind the accounting dream! I joined Francis Clark’s Plymouth office on 2 December 2014, after previously working for three smaller firms. I was employed as an accounts senior, self-studying towards the ACCA qualification. After qualifying a position opened at our Torquay office as a manager. As I still live in Plymouth, I am fortunate enough to be able to work from their a few days a week, with the remainder at the Torquay office. Some of my highlights are the staff socials, volunteering days helping the local community, building great relationships with peers and being involved within our trainee assessment days – it’s great to be able to give back to the local community. My favourite part of the job must be the people I’ve met, along with really getting to know clients and their businesses. Forging a real solid relationship with clients enables you to delve so much deeper into their affairs and think outside the box with strategies and tax planning ideas. Francis Clark encourage working autonomously which gives you so much freedom and the ability to learn a wealth of additional knowledge.” #Achievement #FrancisClarkLife #LongService
