At Forth Ports we do much more than manage cargo passing through our eight ports across the UK. We are intrinsically connected to the success of the local and national economies in which we operate. The commodities we handle allow our economy to thrive and trade, enhancing the quality of life of many people in the UK and countries around the world. As the 3rd largest UK port group, handling in the range of 41 million tonnes of cargo a year we play a pinnacle role in supporting a diverse range of customers and sectors. From our strategically located ports we provide a range of safe, reliable & efficient supply chain services to help customer to simplify their supply chains, reduce cost but ensure consistency, transparency and a high quality of service.     Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes welcomed £50 million investment in the Leith Renewables Hub by Forth Ports. Our 2025-26 Budget commits £150 million to the offshore wind sector to grow the supply chain and attract private investment such as this.

  • We are excited to announce that today we are investing a further £50 million in the infrastructure at the Port of Leith having secured our largest ever offshore wind contract, the delivery of the 1.1 gigawatt Inch Cape Offshore Limited Wind Farm. This latest investment in infrastructure at the Port of Leith will enhance the port’s marine access, infrastructure and vessel assets and includes plant and equipment that will be used to deliver Inch Cape. It will also create up to 50 new and upskilled green energy jobs to support the project. Forth Ports’ agreement with Inch Cape, to be sited off the Angus coast, will utilise the port operator’s bespoke facilities and expertise at newly created renewable energy hubs at both the Port of Leith and Port of Dundee.   • We are delighted to announce the appointment of Stuart MacGregor as our new Chief Financial Officer and member of the main board, effective 9th December 2024. Stuart brings a wealth of expertise to the role, with a career spanning over 30 years in the international drinks and UK house building sectors, in financial leadership, strategic business transformation, commercial and operational excellence. Most recently, as Chief Executive Officer at Stewart Milne Group, he led the business through significant strategic initiatives, driving both growth and operational performance. Prior to that, he held senior financial leadership roles at both Stewart Milne, including the role of Chief Financial Officer, and Heineken based in Europe. Stuart is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant. Stuart will report directly to our Chief Executive Officer, Stuart Wallace who said, “With a proven ability to align financial strategy with business ambitions, Stuart’s financial and executive director leadership will be pivotal as we continue to evolve as a business, positioning Forth Ports for continued sustainable growth and long-term success.     Fantastic for Cruise Scotland and its members to support Cruise Forth sixth annual Cruise Conference - What Works for Tourism? The event, organised by CruiseForth, examined trends in cruise tourism, with input from Jens Chr. Skrede Managing Director of Cruise Europe, Liz Gammon Seatrade Cruise expedition ambassador, on the growth of the expedition market and the opportunities for Scotland, Sirle Arro on the collaborative work undertaken to promote Baltic Ports to cruise lines, and from SCOTO’s Carron Tobin whose work in Scotland supports rural communities to work constructively with the growth in tourism. With representation and engagment from Cruise lines visiting Scotland including Scott Tristram Ambassador Cruise Line and Gerhard Luebbren AIDA Cruises Key initiatives were discussed including community led, sustainable, responsible and regenerative tourism. The value of Cruise tourism to Scotland was also highlighted along with the attributes of Cruise as being one of the most managed forms of tourism and how it can successfully deliver on these initiatives adding huge value to Scotlands coastal communities and beyond. Whilst the attractions of Scotland to the industry were highlighted by Liz Gammon who described the region as “packed with culture, history, unique nature and breathtaking landscapes offering destination experiences and opportunities that no cruise line should overlook! “ With over 80 delegates in attendance feedback described an 'inspiring day with engaging discussions and valuable insights', noted CruiseForth’s Peter Wilson Thank you also to The Port of Leith Distillery for post event tour!
