Rounding off both a fantastic year for our investment team and a string of great deals across the greater London market, we’ve just completed the sale of the Specsavers store on Croydon’s prime retail pitch, to a private investor.   FMX’s James Mead and Patrick Kilvington, alongside joint agent Allsop LLP’s Will Clough, have sold this key property – located at 112 North End in the centre of Croydon’s fully pedestrianised retail pitch – on behalf of a private client.   The store is let to Specsavers until September 2030 without break, with the optical retailer paying a rent of £95,000 per annum. Following a fantastic year in which we’ve secured some absolutely cracking deals for our clients and continued to grow our client base, an FMX Christmas celebration was definitely in order! 🎄💫🎉 Tucking into a delicious festive lunch at The Princess Royal pub in Notting Hill, the team then tackled a seriously challenging quiz – orchestrated by quiz master Hugo Mackichan and comfortably won by Filippa Mudd and Nick Symons – before we sat back to enjoy an impressive rendition of ‘It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas’ from our own in-house Michael Bublé impersonator Oliver Smart! After an entertaining annual awards ‘ceremony’ hosted by Howard Quigley – always a key highlight of an FMX Christmas party - it was then on to Bounce in Holborn for some light inter-team competition across a ping pong table.🏓 What better way is there to celebrate a successful year and kickstart the Christmas celebrations than with your work family! Coinciding neatly with #UKCharityWeek this week, we’ve just wrapped up our Movember Challenge which saw the FMX Urban Property Advisers’ team walk and run an incredible 2,500km and grow some perhaps slightly questionable facial hair – all in the name of raising funds to support the invaluable work of the men’s mental health and cancer charity. 🥸👟   The team launched the challenge at the start of November, with the aim of walking or running a total of 2,127km – the distance from our Maddox Street office in London’s West End to our furthest instructions in the north, east, south and west. But smashing this huge target, the team covered an amazing 2,500km, with Graham Fawcett leading the charge and contributing a whopping 421 of those kilometres!   This feat was perhaps slightly more successful than the moustaches grown in that same time period…but still a great effort from Henry Foreman, Charlie Spilsbury, Hugo Mackichan and Oliver Smart!   If you haven’t already, there’s still time to donate to support the ongoing work of this hugely important charity.
