If you are a higher-rate taxpayer, you might pay more tax than you bargained or budgeted for. 60%, in fact! 💸 Earning between £100,000 and £125,140 means you could end up paying 60% income tax. They call it ‘stealth tax’. On paper, it doesn’t seem to exist. 📄 Here are some ways to avoid or mitigate the 60% tax trap: 1️⃣ Top up your pension You can bring your taxable income below the threshold by paying more into your pension before tax year-end. 2️⃣ High-income Child Benefit This is a tax charge on families where one partner has a net adjusted income of more than £60,000, with an extra 1% deducted for every £200 of income over £60,000. Even if the 60% tax trap doesn’t apply to you, it’s worth remembering that as your income rises, so might your tax vulnerability. ⌛ Remember to check in with our financial advisers, we can help you steer clear of the 60% tax trap this tax year. By keeping your spending modest, you can secure enough for retirement while also being able to give back to your community. Warren Buffett is known for living frugally despite his vast wealth. He still lives in the same home he bought in 1958 for $31,500 and drives an ordinary car. Financial peace means enjoying simple pleasures and maintaining a modest lifestyle. Our advisers can assist you in reinvesting earnings, and make wise, long-term financial planning. #FrugalLife #MotivationalQuotes #SavingMoney #FinancialPlanning #FinancialAdvice

Have you ever considered gifting money or valuable assets this Christmas? 🎁 It's a good idea to make a real difference to the financial well-being and security of the whole family. You can choose from cash gifts 💷, gifts to trusts, children’s pensions 👶, or Junior ISAs, and even help pay for an upcoming wedding or civil partnership. 💒 Here are some tax-smart ways to gift your family: 1️⃣ Gifting cash You can give away up to £3,000 a year, and make any small gifts of up to £250, which reduces the size of your estate, and therefore your IHT liability. 2️⃣ Giving a Junior ISA (JISA) As their parent or legal guardian, you can open a JISA for any child under 18 who’s living in the UK. It's a great opportunity to get children into the habit of savvy saving. 3️⃣ Starting a child’s pension It's possible to make your children millionaires if you put in £240 every month until they are 18. Thanks to the magic of compound interest, this fund could grow into an astounding £1 million by the age of 65. 4️⃣ Making a gift for someone’s ‘big day’ Gifts to pay for weddings or civil partnerships are exempt from IHT. That’s in addition to the £3,000 annual gift allowance exemption. 👉 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eDskyeAG Start giving, and have a very merry, tax-savvy Christmas! 🎄 Our financial advisers can help you decide which is best for you, and your family member. #christmas #christmasgift #taxplanning

Becoming a millionaire by 30 means little if it's all gone by 40. 🍂 By thoughtfully diversifying your investment portfolio, you can not only grow your wealth but also preserve it, potentially benefiting generations to come. Mike Tyson, the legendary boxer 🥊, amassed over $400 million during his career but declared bankruptcy in 2003. Tyson's extravagant spending, poor financial management, and lack of diversification left him struggling financially after his prime for a long time. Our advisers can help your wealth grow through thoughtful and strategic lifetime financial planning. #FinancialPlanning #FinancialAdviser #FinancialAdvice #WealthManagement
