About us
For too long, women have been excluded from the spaces where ‘it’ happens. Where a handshake leads to a job and a conversation leads to a client. We’re here to change that. FFinc is an association of women and businesses committed to creating opportunity – for women to advance, business to change and everyone to prosper. From advancement, accelerator and funding opportunities, to leadership exchanges, masterclasses and industry-leading events which are attended by some of the UK’s most influential women… We are creating all the spaces women have been asking for. And by doing so in collaboration with organisations that share our vision, we are building a new leadership landscape where everyone wins. Because when everyone wins, we all move Forward, Faster. Don’t you FFinc?

“As a woman, to get funded you need all the same materials—it just might be that no one’s told you what those are yet.” Thank you Sarah Weingust for leading an EmpowHer workshop on how to pitch to investors. Your story, your how-to-get-funded know-how, and your commitment to empowering underrepresented communities are commendable as F. Very FFinc energy… Bravo! Thank you also to Mountside Ventures for lending Sarah to us and the EmpowHer cohort for a few hours... We and Cripps greatly appreciate it—she's a gem!

Hayley Harvey-Smith is a true FFinc-er. Read our founder Tamara Gillan's thoughts on Hayley's successful lawsuit against her own company—and why women still need to fight harder than most to protect themselves in business!
The journey to exit is wrought with barriers, biases, and blind spots – especially for women. Women exit less and for less, and when they either sell their business or IPO they're much more likely to be ousted than their male counterparts. Which all sounds pretty bloody unbelievable until you read stories like these. Hayley Harvey-Smith sold her company and then the new owner – a man – fired her for “taking too many holidays”. But when an employment tribunal looked into it, they determined that 99% of the trips were working holidays and she had not in fact breached any employment rules. So was it a fair dismissal? Or just another example of gender disparity and – yes – misogyny in the workplace? I think the £50k she was awarded in damages answers that question... Bravo to you, Hayley, for standing your ground and winning justice. Your story resonates with us all. Every woman building a business deserves to do so without fear of being undervalued, dismissed, or undermined. As Victoria Symons says: As a female founder, you've got to protect yourself in every way – in everything from your Service Agreement and your employment contract to the equity percentage you hold onto.

Why do we need more business accelerators just for women? Because the data speaks volumes: women receive only 2% of venture capital—even in categories like femtech, male founders outperform women 8:1 in funding stakes. But solutions exist. In this piece, we explore the systemic barriers women face—and how programmes like the EmpowerHer accelerator we built with Cripps are rewriting the rules. Together, we can build a future where every female founder has the tools to thrive... Get in touch with us if your business would like to get involved.

Divorce doesn’t have to be destructive. It can be empowering. At The F Word, Farhana Hussain brought the fierceness. She reminded us all: life’s transitions don’t break us—they build us. This is what the FFinc community does. We create the spaces where powerful conversations happen. Where women lift each other up. Farhana, you are a FORCE and we are so proud to have you in our corner. #TheFWord #Community #divorce

The power of community changes everything. It’s Thursday, and what a busy, busy week it’s been! From our monthly Divorce Social Meet-Up – Chapter One, to the incredible F Word event from FFinc where I had the honour of sharing why divorce doesn’t have to be destructive. It was an honour to be alongside an inspiring panel of women who are boldly changing the narrative. I applaud you Lucy Goff founder of LYMA Heather Jackson founder & CEO GenM Official Ellie Turner Coughlin Maude Hirst of Home of Connection Lauren Berkemeyer CMO YuLife Eleanor Mills founder of NOON Elaine Jackson (you are something else!) Melanie Stancliffe Bella Hignett @sophia parsons and of course, the brilliant woman behind FFinc founder & CEO Tamara Gillan 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I was reminded just how incredible it feels to be surrounded by women who are committed to lifting each other up—women navigating transitions, building new chapters, and thriving through life’s challenges. It was also so lovely to see some familiar faces in the audience— Kay Korsh who said I looked good… coming from an expert stylist for speakers that’s a BIG compliment! And my talented website designer Marie Brown and the amazing womb healer Joanne Sissons, thank you for your support and energy. ❤️ That’s exactly what inspired me to create Beyond Basics: The Ultimate Divorce Checklist. In any network, the most powerful thing you can do is simple: connect someone to someone else. Because the truth is, no one can do it all. But together, we can accomplish anything. At FFinc, we believe in the magic of connecting the dots—identifying opportunities, sharing resources, and offering introductions that change the game for someone else. Thank you Ellie Turner Coughlin for coming along to The F Word with Maude Hirst to inspire us all with your incredible insights and the work you do at Home of Connection. The energy you both brought was so FFinc. ——————————————————————— Our 2-for-1 membership offer is more than just our lowest offer yet—it’s an opportunity to amplify the value of connection. With memberships working out at less than £88 each for the entire year, it’s the perfect chance to give the gift of meaningful connections this Christmas. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eZpVg-Yg 🎁

When we asked the women of The EmpowHer Programme why there’s a need for female-powered business accelerators like these, they spoke about the unique challenges they face—whether it’s navigating a fundraising landscape dominated by men, confronting age bias, or overcoming the barriers that still exist for women in business. But they also highlighted the magic that happens when women come together. We love how Ellora Coupe put it: “Women have a different narrative together as a group—they’re real enablers.” This is why we collaborated with Cripps to build EmpowHer: a space where ambition, support, and expertise collide to help women rewrite the rules and own their space in the business world. These quotes are just a glimpse into the bold, brilliant insights from our Cohort. Check out their perspectives and learn why programs like EmpowHer aren’t just nice to have—they’re essential. Thank you Ellora, Chamiah Dewey and Caroline Bailes FCA for participating in the programme and sharing so much with us. We're so happy to have been a small part of your incredible journeys and can't wait for your next round of fabulous news!
