Cyber attacks have cost businesses in the UK an eye-watering £44 billion in lost revenue over the past five years, according to insurance broker Howden. Back in September, the UK government published research into the UK cyber security labour market, and specifically cyber security skill gaps and skill shortages. Across the economy almost half of businesses demonstrated skill gaps in basic areas, with incident management skills gaps increasing from 27% four years ago, to 48% in 2024.  Recruitment isn't easy, especially when there is such a large demand for the skill set you require.
