Wow 2024 has been a blast. We've been working hard on building our community and supporting our candidates and clients and super proud of what we have achieved. 2025 is looking fresh for us, with a few new things coming from our end... you will have to watch this space. 👀👀 In the meantime here's a few piccies of J2C through 2024 and a summary of the key business focus areas that you may want to think about in 2025 as the marketplace continues to evolve. Here's our summary: 1️⃣ AI with Ethics: AI continues to streamline hiring processes, but the focus is now on ethical use—reducing biases, ensuring fairness, and maintaining transparency in algorithms. There's still an element of distrust with AI whilst wanting to embrace it. 2️⃣ Engaging Passive Talent: Candidates not actively job-hunting are now a top focus. Proactive outreach, authentic employer branding, and employee referrals are becoming essential to attract this hidden talent pool. Working with a recruiter who has access to this is crucial. 3️⃣ Skills-Based Hiring & Development: "Right-skilling" is the way forward. Companies are hiring for transferable skills while reskilling their workforce to meet changing business needs—a win-win for employers and employees. 4️⃣ Flexibility & Transparency: Candidates expect salary transparency, hybrid work options, and purpose-driven roles. Meeting these expectations will be key to attracting and retaining talent, especially as Gen Z reshapes the workforce. We've seen a huge disparity when attempting to hire Gen Z candidates, some for the good and some, people would say for the worst, either way to grow, business's need to hire and have to adapt and remain flexible and human to the workforces needs. 5️⃣ Human-Centric Recruitment: Personalisation in the hiring process—customised job recommendations, tailored candidate experiences, and meaningful onboarding—creates stronger connections between employers and candidates. This really echoes the above note about Gen Z and the hiring requirements. 6️⃣ Authentic Employer Branding: Flashy perks are out. Candidates value workplaces that prioritise authentic cultures, long-term growth, and meaningful opportunities over superficial benefits. Money talks initially but the culture really wins and keeps people. Culture is 100% the focus for clients and candidates currently. 2025 is about blending innovation with a human touch. The companies that succeed will be those that adapt, prioritise inclusivity, and invest in building genuine relationships with their talent and workforce to enable them to work effectively, all of which we are here to help and advise.
