We’re proud to announce that both our Ince and Widnes plants have passed the deliverability assessment phase of the government’s Track 1 Expansion process. This milestone is a major step forward within the Track 1 expansion process, positioning us to collaborate closely with the UK government on Greenhouse Gas Removals. Our BECCS projects can play a critical role in the UK’s Net Zero ambitions, through our mission to restore balance. Evero recently welcomed the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Environment Agency to our Ince BioPower plant 🏭 This visit was a fantastic opportunity to showcase how Evero leads the way in gasification technology and to share exciting updates on our InBECCS project, which has passed the Track-1 Expansion deliverability milestone. Collaboration with the government is integral to driving these innovative projects forward and achieving the urgent and shared goal of Net Zero emissions.

This week, we hosted a consultation at Elton Community Centre, near our Ince BioPower plant. At Evero, actively engaging with local communities and keeping them informed about developments in their area is important. It was a pleasure to meet local residents and have meaningful conversations about our upcoming carbon capture retrofit 🏭 This transformative project will play a vital role in removing over 200,000 tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere each year, contributing significantly to a more sustainable future and forever capturing carbon. In addition to sharing updates on the retrofit, we also discussed how this initiative would bring further job opportunities and skill development to the region 👷 HyNet

Recycle Week is here! ♻️ This year’s #RecycleWeek theme is ‘Rescue me’, focusing on rescuing items from the rubbish that could have been recycled. Retrofitting carbon capture technology at our Mersey Bioenergy plant is a key step toward supporting the UK’s Net Zero 2050 target, enabling the removal of up to 200,000 tons of carbon annually. It also plays a vital role in creating long-term high-skilled local jobs 👷 On the news that the UK government has assessed the project as deliverable, Derek Twigg, MP for Widnes and Halewood, recently said: “This is great news for the constituency. With Evero’s carbon capture project at Mersey Bioenergy passing the government’s deliverability assessment, we can see the potential for decarbonisation investment landing north of the Mersey. I had the pleasure of seeing Evero’s plant in operation just last month, where it takes waste wood from the north west and turns it into renewable energy.
