The Pinewoods Conservation Group is asking for comments on the Danone/Harrogate Spring Water Limited Planning application to expand the bottling plant facility into Rotary Woods, an area of woodland. The submission of comments against the application will close on Friday, 15 November 2024. Danone-owned #HarrogateSpringWater wants to remove 450 mature #trees planted by children in the Pinewoods forest, Harrogate North Yorkshire, to expand its plastic bottle bottling plant. The Environmental Impact: Mature woodlands provide essential ecosystem services such as carbon sequestration, wildlife habitat, and local climate regulation. Clearing these forests for industrial purposes would lead to irreversible damage to biodiversity and exacerbate climate change.
