Tonight, I’m incredibly proud to be heading to the Scotland Women in Technology (SWiT) awards to celebrate the remarkable achievements of women in our industry ❤ This year is extra special for us as our very own Head of Production, Pamela Corsar, has been shortlisted for the Career Change of the Year award! 🏆 Pam’s journey to heading up our manufacturing department has been nothing short of inspiring, and her passion and dedication have brought tremendous value to our team. Watching her grow and excel has been a privilege, and an absolute joy, and she continues to set an example for us all, and for the next generation of women in STEM! Congratulations to Pam, and to all the other inspiring nominees tonight. Here’s to celebrating all the brilliant women who are leading, innovating, and shaping the future of technology here in Scotland! 🌟 (and apologies in advance if my emotions leak out of my eyes at some point tonight 🤣) #SWITAwards #WomenInTech #ProudCEO #Wecare

Innovation doesn’t just happen in the lab or the design studio – it’s a mindset that every member of our team brings to the table 💡 With this in mind, today we want to spotlight an epipole champion of ingenuity: our Head of Marketing, Robert Turner. Usually, he's the one behind the scenes, working his magic from behind the camera, but today, he’s the one in front of the lens*, and for good reason! 📷 Faced with weeks of waiting for sample test parts for a design project, that would have also cost hundreds to produce and ship, he took matters into his own hands - quite literally! 🙌 Using the same 3D printer he uses to create intricate Dungeons & Dragons miniatures, he taught himself how to import and edit the standard CAD shapes we use in manufacturing, into the 3D printer software (he wanted us to shout out ANYCUBIC for their awesome software!) and within a few hours he had begun printing test components for our latest design project 👨⚕️👩⚕️ Not only that, but he also then hand-finished (and hand-painted with #Warhammer acrylic paints!) these samples, allowing our team to get a real, tangible look at potential color and style options for #epiCam side trims, for our bespoke offerings and branded options for our partners 🎨 His innovative approach saved us time, money, and energy - and exemplifies the creativity that powers our entire team. Who knew a bit of D&D expertise would make such a big impact? 🎲 Aside from projects like cosmetic components, this kind of technology and approach opens a whole raft of really interesting opportunities for rapid prototyping and testing across the board. Manufacturers will know only too well how time consuming and expensive it can be to get test parts created for projects/R&D – being able to rapidly produce these items in house and being able to iteratively change and tweak them as needed, all in a few hours (as opposed to a few days/weeks!), can be an absolute game changer 🙌 - *Let’s just say, this image of him is a rare sight indeed – even masked up as he was, it took some convincing to get him on the other side of the camera! 😉 #Innovation #3DPrinting #MarketingMagic #Teamwork #BehindTheScenes #DungeonsAndDragons #NerdLife

Every day is a school day! #NeverStopLearning 💡 We had some brilliant visitors at epipole HQ this week! The fine folk from Vyne Analytics Ltd. – Guven Gurkan Inan and Dr Tom Pfefferkorn – came to help us ‘accelerate our growth’ by delivering a Digital Capability Assessment! 📈 Working with our Head of Production, Pamela Corsar, the Vyne team had a tour of our Production and Manufacturing facilities, and were really impressed by what we had in place, and how much we had achieved with a comparatively small team (full props to Pamela Corsar and Sarah Jardine for this!) 🙌 The service they provide (the ‘Digital assessment Audit’) is designed to give us unique insights into how we can aim to be even more data-driven in what we do, how we can become even more connected/seamless, and it was really useful to drill down into the ‘whys’ of our various processes in a really interesting and productive way e.g., ‘why’ do we use that specific component, or ‘why’ do we have that particular process running the way we do etc.👁🗨 The conversations certainly sparked our imaginations, gave us a fresh perspective on what is possible/available in the realm of sustainability, and it was really useful to bounce ideas around as to how we do what we do, and how we may be able to learn from others too to help streamline and scale things even further ✅ Thanks so much to the Made Smarter Innovation - Smart Manufacturing Data Hub – who funded the Assessment and made this all possible ❤ Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University #ContinuousImprovement #LeanManufacturing #Manufacturing #SCOTMFG

In today’s fast-paced world, optometrists face constant challenges - balancing high patient volumes, while providing exceptional care, keeping up with technological advances while supporting their teams, and all this while running their businesses and managing costs 👩⚕️👨⚕️ We understand the challenges, and we’re here to help 💕 At epipole, our world-class team has developed an easy to use, ultraportable, retinal imaging device: the award-winning epiCam: https://lnkd.in/ep4Wf-8P 👁🗨 Designed specifically with modern optometrists in mind, the #epiCam enables high-quality retinal imaging to be acquired, quickly and easily, wherever your patients are; helping optimize in-practice care, as well as delivering retinal screening for remote patients, as well as those with mobility limitations, or in ‘non-compliant’ care settings ❤ Coupled with our comprehensive training for your team(s), the ease of use, image quality and flexibility of our cameras, all mean you can reach and serve more patients, more easily – even imaging patients you couldn’t before - and all at a fraction of the cost of a desktop fundus camera #SeeMore 👀 Imagine the impact: an upskilled team, leading to more patients seen, more retinas imaged, and more lives impacted 🙌 Are you ready to take your practice to the next level by adding ultraportable retinal imaging to your day to day? 🤔 Let's talk about how, together, we can make that possible: https://lnkd.in/deHdvJsy #Optometry #PatientCare #InnovationInHealthcare #WeCare #Ultraportable

Some fun shots here of our team having a great couple of days at the Scotland Manufacturing & Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition (Glasgow) 🙌 Sarah Jardine, Pamela Corsar (seen below demonstrating her steady hand, as one of the only people to get a buzz free round in the past day and a half!), Charlie Wardrop and Ian Murray all had an incredible time at the event this week, as we had a team excursion to explore the future of manufacturing and innovation right here in Scotland! 🏭 In addition to catching up with people at the show, and some good old fashioned networking, there were some really insightful talks and inspiring and interesting exhibitors too 💡 The event was packed with cutting edge ideas and developments, that will undoubtedly shape the future of our industry. We’re especially excited about how advancements seen here can support the evolution of cutting-edge medical devices being manufactured right here in Scotland (devices just like our ultraportable retinal camera, the #epiCam #ShamelessMarketingPlug #SorryNotSorry)👁️⚙️ The event has been a fantastic opportunity to engage with industry leaders, exchange ideas, and identify potential partners who share our vision of pushing the boundaries of technology and patient care #WeCare 🤝 One of the favourite quotes received from the team, was from our R&D Lead Ian, who simply sent: “Yay they have robots” 🤖 Sarah said “This has been a really fun event actually – lots going on and it’s been amazing to see some of my old friends and colleagues and catch up on what they have been up to. It’s been really exciting to see all the new ideas and technology being developed, and honestly just spending some time with the team out of the office and getting to just have fun has been really enjoyable too.” ❤ - A big thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event a success! We’re looking forward to the future of manufacturing in Scotland and beyond. 🌍 National Manufacturing Institute Scotland Glasgow Caledonian University Scottish Engineering #InnovationInAction #FutureOfManufacturing #MedicalDevices #TechForGood #ScotlandManufacturing #HealthcareInnovation
