Founder & General Partner @ Emerge | Pre-seed Investor, Future of Work & Learning

📣 New Manifesto Alert: the Future of Work and Learning, by Emerge I had the pleasure of talking to Andreas Munk Holm 💖 of EUVC about our new manifesto, the future of learning and work and our three-pronged investment thesis, “Learn, Navigate, Work.” 🤔 Why Learn, Navigate, Work matters to ALL of us: - $56B invested in Gen AI since 2023 - SaaS used to augment humans, AI replaces them - AI will add $7 trillion to global GDP over the next 10 years. Much bigger projected impact than PCs/Internet combined - AI will change the way we work: roles will become broader and we'll do more with less - In the process, up to 2/3 of jobs could be automated by AI, creating huge potential disruption - However, those who embrace AI will be 1.5-3x more productive than those who don’t - The time to act is now to ensure access to that productivity gain is spread as widely as possible! ➡️ Our resulting thesis Learn, Navigate, Work. To adapt to this new reality, we need 1) access to learning 2) talent in the right places and 3) tools to empower us at work. - Learn: AI that lowers the cost and increases the quality of learning opportunities available to everyone - Navigate: AI that improves the efficiency and quality of some of life’s most important decisions: where we work and who we work with - Work: AI that empowers individuals to do more with less: eliminating repetitive, dull work and freeing up capacity to spend time on high-value tasks 🫶 Request for startups Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing specific requests for startups that fit into that thesis. For now, please enjoy this stimulating deep dive with Andreas - and leave your thoughts and perspectives in the comments! 💖

Head of Platform at Emerge | Investing in the future of learning & work

🚀 Calling all female founders building the future of learning and work! We’re bringing together a powerhouse of learning experts for a Female Founder Office Hour. Whether you're looking for advisors, investment or mentorship for the best of the best in our industry, then this is the group for you. 👎 It’s no secret—only a small fraction of VC funding finds its way to women-led businesses. While edtech shows promise, it’s not immune to this gap! Women make up 30% of edtech founders, yet only 3.8% of VC funding goes to female founded startups. At Emerge, we’re committed to changing this. With 43% of our portfolio companies co-founded by women in our last fund, we’re dedicated to supporting incredible women-led ventures and continuing this in (our recently closed) Fund II! Apply to join us on Thursday, December 12th to meet and gain insights from an incredible group of founders, operators, and executives in our Venture Partner and Emerge Insider communities, from organisations like Andela, Degreed, Udacity, Korn Ferry, Chegg Inc., and edX. 👇 Interested? Drop your startup’s name below and apply for a spot through the link in the comments! 💖 Not a female founder? I would so appreciate if you could amplify this opportunity by sharing or tagging a phenomenal female founder in your network who could benefit from this!! Early stage investor in future of work and learning

LEGENDARY week in Copenhagen for TechBBQ and our fourth edtech / future of work meetup where we gathered 70 founders and investors passionate about disrupting the space. Highlights: 💡 Wizdom's insights on how to cultivate a high performing team: i) Don't compromise on competencies when hiring, poor cultural fit will impact the whole organisation; ii) Burnt out teams underperform - proper R&R is crucial to high performance.  🕰 Helene's founder story from Tiimo and the trade off between speed to market and taking the time to get the product right, especially when you are building truly impactful products for users. It takes patience! 😅 The second Emerge run club - ANOTHER ZERO TURNOUT. Third time lucky? (Puresport how did you do it?!!) Thanks to everyone who came along, Wizdom, Helene and Rasmus for your AMAZING insights, and our friends Michael and Dominika for being fantastic co-hosts.

🔥 Founders, how much time should you really spend on strategy when you're constantly putting out fires? According to Smita Bakshi, co-founder of zyBooks: A Wiley Brand, strategy isn't just important—it's critical to reducing those fires in the first place. 💡 She breaks it down into two essential phases: 1️⃣ Before Product-Market Fit: Identify the undeniable need, know why you are best suited to solve it, and look for key inflection points to leverage. 2️⃣ After Product-Market Fit: Focus on delighting your users and expanding your user base. Stick to your strategy, even when tempting opportunities arise outside your core focus. 👀 Watch the full episode on our YouTube channel (Emerge PMF Academy) for more insights on early-stage startup strategy.
