Charity Leaders Growing Together

About us

What is Ella all about? We are are a mainly volunteer run CIC supporting charity leaders to thrive in their roles. Helping them to safeguard their own wellbeing whilst delivering the greatest impact for their beneficiaries. So how do we do it? We run online action learning sets across the country. Where charity leaders meet monthly to share their real life leadership and operational challenges. The hive mind of the group helps them find solutions and take action. Facilitated by experienced chairs, these sessions are supportive and action focused. We enable leadership development by offering inspiring monthly speaker sessions. Focused on topics that help charity leaders be the best leader they can be and offer a fresh take on typical charity challenges. So what does it cost and how do I get involved? An annual membership to Ella Forums is £600. This covers access to monthly action learning set, the monthly speaker sessions and the annual conference. Attending a session for free is a great way to test out if this is the right support for you. Just email us to book your free place. • Merry Christmas from all of us at Ella Forums! We want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and say a huge thank you for working so hard to support those in our communities that need you most. Many of you won't have the luxury of stopping over Christmas as beneficiary needs are year round. A special thanks goes out to everyone working over Christmas and keeping charity spirit alive all year. We know Christmas isn't full of joy for everyone, for some of us it is extra hard. If you are finding things difficult this festive season take a look at the brilliant resources from Mind (https://lnkd.in/d2KnZdk) and Self Space are hosting some great events to keep you connected and not feeling alone. Take care of yourselves. Lots of Love, Team Ella xx P.S. When we pop back here in the new year we will be called Leaders Together. Keep an eye out for our new logo and website.

  • Are you concerned about charity leader mental health? We are. Through our leadership forums and monthly speaker sessions we see charity leaders being put under significant pressure to keep the wheels turning when faced with increased need and reduced funding. This pressure is having a negative impact on leader mental health. To kickstart 2025 we are hosting an event to explore charity leader mental health. Vic Hancock Fell has kindly agreed to share her research findings and together we will explore how we can collaborate to better support leaders. If you would like to be part of the conversation email [email protected] to book your place.

  • Great opportunity to help shape the support your 'for purpose' organisation needs. Complete the School for Social Entrepreneurs survey by 18th Dec!

We’re asking for your feedback, your experience, to help us identify the needs of 'for purpose’ organisations including charities, social enterprises, community businesses and not-for-profits, just like yours. We aim to deliver hands-on, accessible solutions to third sector problems, but we need you to tell us what they are. ⛔ What barriers are you facing? 🧩 Which training needs are hard to fulfil? 💪 How can we continue to support yourself and others in building strong and resilient organisations? We’re asking for two things: 1) Complete the survey. It will take about 10 minutes; every completed survey will be entered into a draw to win one of four £100 John Lewis vouchers. 2) Share the survey far and wide. The more responses we get, the more useful the data will be. Send on to your colleagues, your partners, your supporters, your funders – as many people as possible! We’ll be sharing the results in the new year. The survey is available here, until it closes on Wednesday 18th December: https://lnkd.in/ed6_Rs7h

  • What a way to start the day! This morning we were treated to Sebastian Kamilli sharing his knowledge and insights into the creation of your second brain. Basti walked us through how building a second brain using tools like Obsidian (https://obsidian.md/) can help us layer and connect our learning. Helping us to stop wasting time trying to remember things (or re-reading books, looking in endless folders for that useful article or screenshot) and make good use of our learnings. What has this got to do with charity leadership? With ever increasing to do lists and resources being tight this could be an option to help you save time and to make better decisions. For any Ella Forums members that missed the session you will receive a link to the recording as always. P.S. If you are not yet an Ella Forums member but want to be you can find out more here https://lnkd.in/d8tBjNj
