‘We’re incredibly proud of the work that all volunteers do across the emergency services.’ A husband-and-wife duo recently celebrated 20 years of volunteering after becoming community first responders in 2004. John and Sandra have been volunteering with the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust since 2004, responding to 999 calls and providing initial patient care until an ambulance arrives. During their 20 years of volunteering, they have dealt with a range of incidents from cardiac arrests to people who have fallen at home and need help getting back on their feet. ‘It has been a privilege to serve our local community, helping people in their time of need.’ We’re incredibly proud of the work that all volunteers do across the NHS and social care. If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, visit the NHS volunteering website to find opportunities in your local area. https://lnkd.in/eBc6hnS8 #InternationalVolunteersDay #IVD2024
