Together we can make an impact by enriching the lives of Armed Forces communities
About us
e50K is a collective of ardent and committed military community members, striving to provide an active voice and platform. The Vision for these isolated communities of family members, is to receive the right support so they can actively participate and enjoy a thriving local community, a career (should they wish to) and a happy home – just like everybody else. We provide inclusive, local, bespoke support to improve the lived experience (including service provisions) of those who ‘follow’ their service personnel.

Last Autumn, Viking Arms, in partnership with SMARTSHOOTER made a generous donation to support e50K Communities, a female-led social enterprise dedicated to improving the lives of Defence families. This funding has directly contributed to providing employment opportunities for Defence spouses, helping to break down the barriers that military families often face when seeking work. Why This Matters: According to the 2024 FAMCAS survey, 41% of Army families feel negative about their household income due to employment challenges, with 59% of spouses reporting difficulties finding suitable jobs. For many, being part of a Defence family negatively impacts their career progression. Viking Arms and SMARTSHOOTER have committed to helping alleviate this issue by funding employment for Defence spouses at the Bramble Woods project in Catterick. Last year Viking Police & Military and Viking Arms - Sporting supported the wages of the Bramble Woods team with a donation of £18,000 and I am thrilled to present this mini impact report showing just what a huge impact this has made, both on two Defence families and on the wider Catterick Community. Thank you so much to Viking and Sam MacArthur for your continued support in Catterick, together we are doing amazing things. If you want to capture impacts like these for your organisation, either for our project in Catterick, or our upcoming projects in the Midlands and the South Coast please get in touch for a chat about what we are doing and how you can get involved Thank you to Hannah Hubbleday and the Hubble team for creating such a beautiful Impact Report. We talk every day about 'impacts' and 'beneficiaries', but sometimes we can be in danger of forgetting that we are talking about real people, real stories and real change. So here is the incredible Site Manager of Bramble Woods Amy Manuel, Navy Veteran and Army Spouse, telling her story. Over the next year e50K will be expanding our community projects into the Navy communities in and around Portsmouth and the RAF communities in the Midlands and we are building a consortium of businesses looking to support the real stories and real change of the community within each geographical area. Our projects align the Social Value needs of the Defence Community with the Social Value requirements of the government and MOD procurement systems. For a chat about joining a consortium please email [email protected] Elizabeth Newman-Earl (PhD) Quincey Katie Ankrett, CPP, APMP Rachael Ladd #SocialValueinDefence #ArmedForcesCommunity #SocialImpact

e50Ks uniform swap shop is now open for the summer! It's a fantastic opportunity to exchange, donate, and pick up items for FREE, in beautiful surroundings at Bramble Woods. In Catterick Garrison, the turnover of school starters and leavers is high. Last-minute postings for military families often lead to a frantic scramble for uniforms, and previous uniforms going to waste. We have a lot of nearly new uniform looking for a new home! Clothes swapping is one of the most environmentally friendly ways to reduce waste, minimise the build-up of harmful chemicals in our surroundings and give wardrobes a new lease of life without spending a penny ♻️ #bethechange #communityswap #reducewaste

On Tuesday night Rachael Ladd and I were delighted to represent e50K at the Soldiering On Awards Finalist Reception at the House of Lords as finalists for the Business Community Impact Award sponsored by Cisco. What an incredible room of people and and it was an honour be there. It was brilliant to get to talk to so many people about e50K and the impacts we are having, and also to hear all the amazing stories and work going on inside the defence community. Cannot wait for the ceremony in October #defencecommunity #soldieringonawards #communityimpact

Delivering community spirit for Defence Families SEKO have a keen interest in supporting strong integrated communities and this includes partnering with e50K Communities to help the UKs Defence community. On Saturday 20th July SEKO Logistics funded an historical learning event at e50Ks Bramble Woods. Teaming up with the Rusticas Theatre Company, Catterick Historical Achieves and local volunteers (with a special mention to Dan Boatright Greene) to deliver intergenerational activities to over 100 people across 3 sessions - including one session to 33 individuals with special educational needs (SEN) "I could never take my children to a theatre because of my sons complex needs - it just wouldn’t work. Today has really met my sons' sensory needs and been a great day for the rest of the family!" Thank you SEKO Logistics for your valued support. Last year Viking Arms supported us with an £18,000 donation to the Bramble Woods Site in Catterick. Partnering with organisations such as Viking Police & Military is vital to allow us to continue doing the work we do. We couldn't make the impact on the Armed Forces Community we do without support from such amazing organisations.
