LAST CHANCE TO APPLY: All Access Pass: The Future of Inclusive Tourism. This challenge is all about using 5G and immersive technologies to tackle some of the biggest barriers to make North East tourism truly open to all. We are seeking North East organisations to join this challenge to develop a 5G and/or immersive solution over 10-weeks of workshops, co-working opportunities and support from experts to benefit one of three key areas: ♿ Accessibility for Disabled Visitors: For many people with disabilities, visiting a tourist site can be challenging, but technology like 5G-powered, real-time AR and VR can provide customised assistance, such as visual or audio guides or live streaming of hard-to-reach exhibits that enhance accessibility. ☔ Weather-Proofing Experiences: Rain, wind, and chilly temperatures can make outdoor activities challenging, especially as climate change brings more unpredictable patterns and harsher conditions. By implementing innovative tech solutions, visitors can enjoy tourist attractions even in poor weather conditions. 📵 Bridging the Digital Divide: As we introduce new technology like virtual and augmented reality into tourism, it’s essential to make sure everyone can participate—whether they have the latest smartphone, limited data, or simply prefer a more tactile experience. Participants will benefit from: - Industry-leading guidance - Access to cutting-edge technology - Hands-on support from accessibility and digital experts - Growth, development and investment readiness support - Access to co-working and networking opportunities The call is open until the 6th of December.
