About us
The Decarbonisation Net Zero Programme in association with Business Energy Advice Service (BEAS) supports businesses in Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry, Black Country and Warwickshire save energy, reduce water and waste consumption, cut costs and make the most of low carbon opportunities. We provide energy efficiency and environmental grants as well as free support to help identify where energy, water and waste savings can be made. Coventry City Council is delivering the Decarbonisation Net Zero Programme across Coventry and Warwickshire as part of the Business Growth West Midlands in collaboration with Aston University (Birmingham and Solihull) and Black Country Consortium (across Black Country).💡 In addition organisations can join the Green Business Network which allows businesses to come together, share ideas and promote energy efficiency. The network is free to join and open to any business. Family-owned Rugby Care Centre in Clifton Road recently received a free energy audit from the Warwickshire Business Energy Advice Service (WBEAS) which had led to annual savings of £11,286 and 25 tonnes of CO2 The audit helped them to understand how they could improve their heating and energy at the specialist dementia and residential care home and allowed them to apply for financial support to implement the changes. Following a successful grant application, they were able to install a new boiler, new double-glazed windows and doors, and LED lighting. 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒚 𝒂𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒕, £25,000 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕, 8.4 𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒃𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 Coventry-based Summers Joinery Limited, located in Alderman Green Industrial Estate, has received a £25,000 grant from the Decarbonisation Net Zero Programme, delivered locally by Coventry City Council. With the company's large electricity load and 24/7 shift pattern, the new solar system will help reduce costs year-round. The installation is expected to save 8.4 tonnes of carbon annually and lower energy rates, enhancing the company's energy independence. Lee Summers, Managing Director of Summers Joinery Limited, said: "We are delighted to have received this grant, which has enabled us to make a substantial reduction in our energy bills—an invaluable support given the current challenging business climate.
