💡 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 Efficiency is crucial for data, and no business function can achieve it without the #data office leading the way. Data's core purpose is to drive efficiencies across departments, making it essential for the data office to operate at its highest level of efficiency. 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 Data efficiency optimises processes like storage, access, and sharing to make data accessible, manageable, and cost-effective. Data leaders should assess efficiency across the business to establish a baseline. Improved data efficiency leads to:  ➡️ Higher quality analytics  ➡️ Improved productivity  ➡️ Reduced costs 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼 Tools alone don’t solve problems; trained people do. Data leaders must build data literacy by addressing gaps and ensuring teams are equipped to handle and protect data. As businesses grow, supporting new talent to meet evolving data standards is crucial. 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 Effective data categorisation is crucial, particularly for large or legacy businesses. Accurate labeling reduces duplication, saves costs, and ensures quick access. 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 Unleveraged data often results from inefficient storage. Introducing a "hot and cold" storage model—where high-performance solutions are used for frequently accessed data and lower-cost options for infrequent data. This approach reduces waste, and supports a stronger data culture. 👉 Read the full article to learn how to discover effective strategies for improving data efficiency. https://lnkd.in/dWV5D2n9

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 At the #DataIQ100 Summit London earlier this month, Kate Jones, Head of Data Product and Strategy, Coventry Building Society and Robbie Priddle, Head of Data Enablement, Specsavers, sat down with David Reed to speak about how they have succeeded in getting their data adopted by their respective organisations.  Key takeaways include: 🔹 Understand and address organisational needs: Enabling data literacy requires creating data ecosystems tailored to business needs, ensuring accessibility, and addressing cultural challenges 🔹 Adopt a people-centric approach: People are often the biggest challenge in data adoption. Understanding and segmenting personas within the organisation, such as data sceptics or data wizards, helps design targeted learning journeys. 🔹 Communicate impact and benefits: Sharing success stories and presenting real-life examples, such as using data products to replace manual processes, helps reinforce the value of data adoption. Winning data adoption is a multi-faceted effort requiring collaboration, trust, personalisation, and a clear demonstration of value.
