Bring in treats or goodies for the team – you’d be surprised how a bit of care creates goodwill. 2️⃣ Get Involved Socially Football, netball, poker clubs, work socials – show up! People buy from people. Being approachable, likeable, and visible helps you build relationships that matter. 3️⃣ Create a Brag File Start documenting all the good you do: ✅ Positive customer feedback ✅ Revenue you’ve generated ✅ Money you’ve saved the company Evidence is key. When it’s time for that raise, you’ll have a compelling case ready to go. 4️⃣ Weekly Manager Meetings Don’t wait for annual reviews. Meet with your manager every week. Talk about your progress, your goals, and what you want to achieve, and how you can help your manager and company. The bottom line? From Dyson to Working on the Moon I recently came across a fascinating LinkedIn profile. This individual had worked at Dyson and made an incredible career leap—relocating to the U.S. to join Blue Origin. Naturally, my curiosity got the better of me, and I had to connect with him. During our chat, he shared something extraordinary. His expertise in dust separation research and technology development at Dyson turned out to be exactly what Blue Origin needed for their lunar projects. Why? Because the moon is covered in exotic mineral dust, and his skills were uniquely suited to solving challenges associated with it. Here’s the kicker: two years ago, this role didn’t even exist. He never imagined he’d be working on a lunar dust project, yet here he is, proving that curiosity and an open mind can lead to unimaginable opportunities. The lesson?
