The TNFD tool catalogue offers a comprehensive view of today’s nature-related data tools. TNFD's mission of "taking action to conserve and restore nature" is clear, and our NARIA framework advances this goal by providing robust, science-backed metrics to evidence nature investments and reporting. We're driving investment into nature. 🌿 Birds, BioBlitz, and Balcaskie! Earlier this month, the Anstruther Improvements Association and the Fife Coast & Countryside Trust (FCCT) hosted a Bird BioBlitz at the Balcaskie Estate as part of the Dreel Burn project. This event brought together community members, birdwatchers, and ecologists to survey local bird populations and gather critical biodiversity data. CreditNature has been working alongside the team, examining nature data and ecosystem health and offered insights from a similar event that we hosted at Broughton Hall in Yorkshire. Using this experience, we adapted the methodology for Balcaskie to fill a data gap. Participants recorded their sightings in the eBird app, contributing to a publicly accessible dataset. Bird BioBlitzes are a prime example of "citizen science," blending community engagement with scientific data collection. These events do more than count bird species; they foster conservation and restoration awareness and education, inspiring participants to learn about local ecosystems and support these efforts. Regular BioBlitzes offer insights into ecosystem health and restoration impact by tracking bird populations over time.
