The government recently published data related to the number of people in treatment for substance use, covering April 23-24. The total number of adults in treatment is 310,863, an increase of 7% from the year before. Here is our response 👇 https://t.co/Sk2RpgNaRn

STOP PUNISHING SURVIVORS. PROVIDE SUPPORT. Domestic abuse survivors are being unfairly criminalised. Many women are in prison as a direct result of their abuse—coerced into offending, punished for acting in self-defence, or facing malicious allegations as part of a pattern of coercive control. Did you know that 3 in 5 women in prison have experienced domestic abuse, and that Black, Asian, minoritised, and migrant women face disproportionate harm within the system? We’ve co-signed an open letter with over 100 organisations calling on the UK government to: ✅ End the criminalisation of survivors of domestic abuse ✅ Support survivors, rather than punish them The time for action is now. Together, let’s ensure survivors receive support—not punishment. 📢 Read the full letter https://lnkd.in/ep8rW3ur and join us in calling for change. #StopPunishingSurvivors #DomesticAbuse #WomensJustice

It's the final day of #16Days and today we are highlighting our West Mercia team 💜 ✅ In West Mercia we work with adults using harmful behaviours in their relationships to end the cycle of abuse. We create space to learn how to behave appropriately in relationships, while providing advocacy support to survivors. https://lnkd.in/egFVWk63 ✅ We also deliver Drive as part of The Drive Partnership, working to protect victims and survivors of domestic abuse by challenging and changing the behaviour of those causing harm https://lnkd.in/e3t-JC_d ✅ We provide Independent Domestic Violence Advisor services to support and advocate for male victims and survivors of domestic abuse. ✅ We also deliver C-DAIR, the Cranstoun Domestic Abuse Interventions and Resolutions programme, providing psycho-educational interventions for first time offenders: https://lnkd.in/gDuQqNv7 ✊ At Cranstoun we stand against gender-based violence & believe a safer world is possible. Throughout #16Days we have shared information about all of our domestic abuse services – but we know that gender-based violence is relevant in every sector, and every service we provide.
